Have had the pleasure of dining here several times. My first visit was December 2022 and I was staying across the road at the Premiere Inn Blackburn town centre. This is relevant to my discovery of the Firepit because my room was on the top floor and overlooking the cathedral and Firepit. The square had a lovely Christmas tree lit up and looked so festive that I really wanted to eat here. On entrance I was met by the delicious smell of food and heat coming from a hot firepit which was really warm and welcoming coming in from the bitter cold. Staff were professional and lovely. Being Christmas the atmosphere was buzzing with work parties and the decor was also really festive. I was lost when reading the menu as there were so many delicious offerings that I was spoilt for choice and wanted to try them all. Pondering I had a pint of Grolsch beer while making my mind up which in itself was really refreshing and not many places have this on tap. I settled on Piri piri chicken hanging kebab. When it came it was presented on a large skewer suspended on a frame and you carve it yourself onto a wrap. The skin-on-fries, salad and pomegranate seeds were also delicious and made this dish. I have since returned trying the fillet steak hanging kebab which was equally exceptional. I have also tried mixing it up with burgers, ox cheek and steak with every meal being perfect. Next time I think I will try the sizzle steak that you cook yourself on a hot stone.

Tried this place for the first time last night with the other half. The place it's self is very modern and clean. Staff are friendly and attentive. Good atmosphere with nice background music. We got a garlic bread to share which we both enjoyed For starters: I had herb crusted scallops with chorizo which where cooked to perfection but for me the herb crumb overpowered the dish. The other half had spare ribs which I had a bite off and can safely say they were delicious arguably some of the best ribs we've had. What impressed us most was they were served with a finger bowl .. not a lot of places do that. For mains: I had hake with hassle back potatoes on a bed of kale and celeriac purée. All cooked well and very tasty .. I'm not a big fish fan but I really enjoyed this dish. My partner had the hot stone fillet steak also with hassle back potatoes.. the fillet came out seared and you finish off cooking it to your liking on the hot stone. Fillet was good quality and hubby to be enjoyed the pepper corn sauce and potatoes. Drink wise I tried a mocktail called Indian summer which was very refreshing and finished with a cappuccino my man had peroni and a whisky (guess who was driving) All in all really good experience, lovely environment, staff happy to help and good quality food .. would definitely recommend this place.

I had a great time. I wasn't sure to come because of some of the reviews, but it was fantastic!

It was on the pricey side, but I felt it deserved it.

My ribeye was cooked perfectly. I never usually like the tomato with my steak but loved this one, the mushroom was well cooked and really fresh and my sticky toffee pudding was fantastic! The sticky toffee pudding had so much custard it made the inner 6 year old in me very happy lol.

Some constructive feedback on the food would be that the chips were lots of different shades of fried. I don't mind that, I quite like chefs re-frying chips as it gets them crispier but a lot of these were too far gone. When you have lots of different fry levels it makes all the chips really salty as they will get salted each fry. Some of them were dark brown and really didn't look good at all. Everything else was such good quality and so fresh, why lower the standard with super fried chips? They're the cheapest thing on the plate.

I would rate the food as great, I would rate it as outstanding if they sorted the chips out.

The service was excellent, I was waiting at the bar when I walked in but the server (Jessica) came out and was carrying food, she smiled at me to let me know she's seen me, finished sorting the food out and came to me.

I didn't wait too long for anything, I got a check back, offered extra drinks and she was very happy and friendly.

2 things I think she did particularly well was when she obviously knew a table really well and so was having a nice chat with them. As soon as I was ready for anything she would notice really quickly and come over.

The second time was when some kids came into the restaurant and were looking like they were borderline disruptive, she handled them really well. She got them some water, they sat down and were almost quiet and then thanked her and left.

Can't fault her at all. She smashed it!

All in all, very happy 😁 hopefully I'll stay...

Party of 24 for my daughters 18th Birthday

Overall I would rate as average, which is not in line with the pricing.

Drinks service disorganised and slow, a couple of the girls including the birthday girl were missed off the drinks order initially.

Some of our party were receiving their food before others had even got a drink.

Some of the food was quick to arrive whilst others waited a bit longer meaning some were sat waiting whilst others had been eating for a while.

Both me and my partner ordered the steak on a stone, the steaks were ok but it was impossible to know how long they had been on the stone already so hard to get it cooked to preference. I took mine off pretty much straight away as I like mine medium rare only to find after resting it it was blue in the centre. The steak also lacked seasoning.

Sides mediocre.

Had to ask for salt and pepper, we got one salt to share amongst 24.

Burgers looked good 👍

The desserts were much better, the brownie was a perfect texture and plentiful. The firepit sundae was also lush.

Cocktails were also lovely.

Finally upon paying the bill a service charge of 10% had been pre-applied to an already expensive order. This was disappointing, it’s not too bad on a small order but on a table of 24 who ordered drinks, mains and desserts it was a lot.

I must point out the lady said I could remove the service charge if I wanted but that put me in an awkward position. Any staff tips should be at customer discretion not presumed to be applied.

Even though some elements were good I would not return as I do not feel the prices reflect the...

My partner and I came for tea on Saturday evening and while the food was good, the service was poor. It took 15 minutes for our initial drinks order to be taken, and even then it was only taken because we caught the attention of a waiter.

We waited for a quite a while for our mains to be served, and while we were waiting I noticed that a table near us (who were seated after us) were given an identical food order to ours. Within minutes of that table receiving their food, they sent the chicken goujons back to the kitchen, and then a minute or so later the same plate of chicken was brought out and placed in front of me (how many people are ordering chicken with no coleslaw in a steak house?).

After waiting for a further five minutes, the manager came over and explained that our food had been taken to the wrong table. He explained that the steak we’d ordered was being reordered and cooked, and that it should be with us soon. At this point we had to ask that my, now cold, chicken was taken back to the kitchen to be heated back up.

Once the food arrived, it was quite nice, but I wouldn’t say that my chicken and chips was worth £16. When we came to pay the bill, we had a quiet word with the manager explaining that we were not happy with the service we’d received, he said that he would remove the service charge on the bill but we would have to pay full price for the food because we had no complaints about the actual food.

Overall, I was sorely disappointed with the service and hygiene (serving me food that had been on another customer’s table!) and I highly doubt that...
