I love Italian food and have tried many restaurants in the UK, some fantastic and some not so much, however, Little Italy is up there near the top. It’s lovely being greeted with a friendly face and attitude from the staff, before munching on your complimentary bread and sauces, choosing a drink from the extensive menu all while soaking in the great atmosphere. Sure there may be a few people around you talking about golf, but once you are tucking into your lovely food, you’ll soon forget all about that and imagine you are in the Italian version of St Andrews instead. Our chosen meal was ravioli and we loved it. The sauce was amazing, probably the best I’ve had in a restaurant and the garlic bread, it’s so tasty and cooked to perfection. Tbh we booked again in the same week just to make sure how good it was the first time wasn’t a fluke. It’s wasn’t. This place is perfect and is topped off by the limoncello shot at the end of the night.

The atmosphere, the food, the smells, the bread and the staff, where to begin. For starters the atmosphere was incredible, you really felt as if you were in Italy. It is small but its warm and welcoming. The food was incredible. Worth every penny. The presentation and tast was incredible, the flavours danced on your tongue and the meat melts in your mouth. The portions are perfect but very filling. Want to eat dessert don't have a big lunch, we made that mistake. The bread that they bring to the table is light and fluffy and served along side olives, olive oil and olive oil and vinegar. The staff were friendly and we had a good laugh throughout the night with them. In all definitely the best date night with my partner. Will definitely be back. Just wish I could take photos that would do the food justice

The food was five stars but service was unbelievably slow. We were told we needed to be done in an hour and a half, which was fine with us. We were seated outside, which I think is preferable. Inside seemed cramped and boisterous. The meal started out well with cocktails and starters, calamari and caprese. However our entrees showed up about two and a half hours after being seated. The menu warns of waits, and the waiter denied it, but I have to believe our order was lost as the table next to us came an hour after us and received their entrees more quickly. The pastas were great with plenty to take home. Unless one likes a VERY long meal, I cannot recommend here in spite of the food quality.

SO DISSAPOINTED. Very popular place - and had been recommended.

We waited over an hour and a half, my meal arrived 15 minutes after the rest of my party - and was COMPLETELY WRONG. Wrong Pasta, Wrong Sauce, and even the meat. I'm allergic to dairy, so this gave me ZERO faith.

I asked for it to just be removed from the bill. As I had now been in the restaurant for 2 hours. No apology from manager AT ALL.

We stated how we were disappointed that the mistake was not reflected in the bill, he got absurdly defensive said there was nothing he could do, Not even a 10% discount (which we all know is a lie). Not even about the money - its the principle.

Service was AWFUL. Manager Darius was argumentative and rude! Should not work in customer service. Other staff members clearly didn't approve of how he dealt with things (apologising for how rude he was, and that it was out their hands)

I DO NOT RECOMMEND - clearly a popular place as St. Andrews is small and always busy. Don't give this place your money - DISGUSTED by how we spoke to us as customers.

In response @Dario - You didn't apologies once, last night. At no point did you apologies or explain to my party and I that it was a miss communication with the waiter. Even by your tone in this response shows how unapproachable you are as a manager.

It is irrelevant that you offered to re cook the meal three times. I had already lost complete faith in your restaurant as I am allergic to dairy, and the amount of incorrect elements within my dish gave me zero faith that you would be able to provide me with a dairy free dish.

Regarding the starter comment - we stated when asked that it was good to come out with the mains as a side. We also ordered Focaccia, though that was certainly not what we were given. So yet another wrong order. though we did let that slide.

Clearly your lacking KEY customer service skills in understanding how to accommodate to guests. I will not be attending again and will not be recommended to other until the service...

Our family booked a table on the 11th July for the evening of the 12th at 1930. This was for a specific table outside and was due to the needs of our neuro diverse child, which we explained at the time of booking.

We phoned on the 12th, approx 1 hour prior to arrival to confirm the earliest we could arrive and to ensure the table was still reserved that we requested. With no explanation why, we were told the table was not available, but we'd be given a table close to it. We advised that this would not work, and we had reserved the specific table for the reasoning above. After a minute or so, they came back to advise this would not be an issue and the original requested table would be available but outside service was not available until 1930. Upon arrival (10 mins early) our reserved table had been given away to another family and all but 1 table outside was free (even tho we were told that outside service was unavailable until 1930). We were told that if we came back in 10 mins, the free table would be ready. After 10 mins we came back to find the table still untouched and unprepared. At this time, our child became upset.

I requested to speak with the manager. An insincere apology was given, and he seemed entirely unconcerned about the failures and standards of service given to our family. In fact, at his own admittance was more concerned about how busy he and the restaurant was and that we could choose to stay or go. It won't be a surprise that we chose to go.

We then proceeded 50 yards down the road to Pizza Express where service could not have been better and at very short notice fully accommodated our requirements...

Never had such a bad dining experience. When we phoned up to book we asked if there was a gluten free menu and they said yes so we went along.

On arrival the foreign lady said there wasn’t a gluten free menu but maybe I could have a bit of steak or something! I explained I had coeliac disease so even the tiniest amount of gluten would have terrible consequences but she just stared blankly at me. I politely asked if there was anyone else there that knew about these things and she begrudgingly got another waitress who told me they could make anything gluten free. I asked how that could be done with things that have gluten in them. She said not to worry.

Anyway I ordered my starter and main course and she confirmed they’d be marked to be made gluten free. I also chose options that shouldn’t have any gluten. Unfortunately I was glutened and have been throwing up for the last 48 hours.

The staff need to be trained on coeliac disease. It’s not a gluten allergy or a gluten intolerance. It’s an autoimmune disease and so now my immune system will be attacking the lining of my intestines for the next 2 to 4 weeks until the immune response stops. Please educate them on cross contamination etc as I suspect a contaminated ladle was used etc.

It was a Friday night and hardly any staff were on so the poor waitresses were ran off their feet. Had to ask 4 times over a 30 minute period for drinks to come for example and a meal that would typically take us an hour took over 2 hours. It was a busy Friday night to be fair.

Food was very nice though I can say that but best avoid if...
