BlackHorn Burgers — Restaurant in Scotland

Half an hour wait for a simple burger! Took well over ten minutes just to be served (although in fairness we were a big group). When the burger did arrive it was thoroughly middle of the road. Results appear inconsistent, some of my friends had lots of sauce, I had very little. This is likely because while I was waiting the squeezy bottles of ketchup in the kitchen ran out so the staff member making up the burgers took out the catering size tub and just poured huge dollops of ketchup on the hot dogs. When he poured too much on one his supervisor took the sausage and ran it under a tap to wash it off, then reheated it for him to slobber in ketchup again. Obviously stuff like this happens everywhere but having an open kitchen means higher standards of presentation are important. I also saw a couple of orders being messed up and only corrected when the customer mentioned it, although in his defence this guy seemed new. I got the £7 Sunday meal deal which included chips (which were nice but the portion size was stingy) and if it weren't for the wait time I'd consider it good value. However, I could probably have walked to Tesco, bought burgers myself, and cooked them at home in the time this took. Which rather defeats the point of fast food. In summary, excruciatingly slow service for a reasonable quality burger. Go to Saints...

I am writing this review after sadly experiencing some of the worst service i have received. My family and I where out for a day in saint andrews, and stopped here for dinner, my brother and sister are both Gluten intolerant and when we checked their website it said they provided Gluten free options. But upon arrival there was no Gluten free options provided. We asked about it and where told by the female waitress quite rudely "nah we don't do that, she didn't even really try and be helpful. Which left my brother to only be able to order the inside of a burger no bun and chips. After this when our orders did come out half of them where wrong, and not in order, so by the time the last of us got there food everyone else was finished. When we asked why our orders where wrong that female waitress came out and basically called us liers and said it was us in the wrong. This happened not once but twice and she didn't bring our food around to each of us like a proper service just threw it at the end of the table. It was just ok. Order was 2 cheeseburgers, One double one single, One blackhorn dog, Sweet potato fries, regular fries and onion rings. BBQ sauce and blackhorn sauce. Extra toppings and extra cost. Onions(raw) 50p gherkins 50p. The burger patty's were very small and thin. They were also dry and overcooked... That was very disappointing. If you have any appetite whatsoever, you should go for the double burger. Left hungry after having a single patty burger. The bun to meat ratio didn't work out for the single patty burger. Too much bread. Not enough meat. Sides were tasty. Small portions again. I wouldn't order the hotdog again. I didn't like the texture of the sausage. It was a bit too smoky for me.
