What a joke. We visited for a steak as apparantly its a steak house. This place is always hit and miss. Its like steak roullette,they always ruin someones. This time i was feeling confident,its been a while as last time i said never again are we going back after the last time. I should have listened to my gut feeling. My wife's was perfect but mine was not what i asked for. I wanted medium rare it came out rare.I've been eating steaks for years and know my steaks. I pointed out to the waitress. She agreed and took it away. She came back with the same bit of steak after 10 minutes with the same steak that was recooked because the chef didn't get it right the first time. This steak is 30 quid alone by the way. It came back without a new mash as my original is now cold. My wife finished her meal and they expected me to eat and pay for this rubbish. What an insult. They ruined the whole experience. I told them to take it back and for me to speak to someone. A lad came out and said the chef said it was medium rare in the first place which I responded that I,my wife and the waitress could see it was rare so he they shouldn't be working here if they think thats rare. I should have taken a picture. After I spoke to the main manager who should have offered some sort of compensation for ruining our whole experience in the first place for his uneducated chefs .But didn't. Eventually gave us 10% off which was a bloody insult as they ruined our whole evening and i was left starving .Also that was the waitresses tip gone now who I might add was really good. So sorry to her . Do not order a steak from this steak house if you dont want one of your party upset from this restaurant. It still cost me 70 quid with the steak taken off the bill which I demanded to be taken off and was not offered. Billy...
Read moreIt’s terribly sad when you only tend to write reviews when you’ve had a bad experience rather than an average or good. Last time we’re were there our waitress was distraught and crying over arguing with kitchen members and a manager who was being at all helpful.
We were also sat next to a large table of about twenty and are a two older adults who did not want to be sat next to a group of children screaming and running between our seats and constant knocking us whilst we tried to enjoy what was a terrible experience.
Our Waitress Charlotte was lovely, however manager was argumentative and unwilling to put her urge to be defensive aside after delivering a crap service. And then tried to defend in which the time it takes to cook a lamb. Considering in total we’re where there two hours!
Service was absolutely abysmal .
The waitress was very friendly and willing to help. Just looked very stressed.
We were seated and it took about 15-20 minutes to even get our drinks.
Starters came out after about 40 mins.
Meals took well over an hour to be served .
My drinks didn’t even come after twenty minutes I went to collect them myself (by that time they were cold).
No staff at all around to help. Manager was busy or at least looking that way.
In total we were in the restaurant for about two hours - after negotiating the bill over drinks we didn’t drink as they came too late after the meal was finished. She removed said items.
All in all food wasn’t bad. It actually was an improvement considering our last visits. I can now be for certain I will never ever go back to the miller and carter in Brighton.
I hope that this review is clear. Charlotte was helpful and out of her depth because of lack of logistics , would have been nice if the manager had stepped in before it go to the point of us...

Went out for dinner with my partner, arrived about 5 minutes early, got told the table wasn’t ready so got a drink and waited in the bar.
When it came to ordering my partner ordered the lamb pink and I ordered the fillet mignon rare. The lamb came out a little over done but she said it was really nice. My fillet came out well done the runner apologised and took it away and a fresh one came out. Unfortunately the second time it came out it came out blue. Send it back a third time and it came out again over cooked.
The server and the runner were both very apologetic and also the only people to apologise. The manager came over a gave us a glass of wine we ordered, no apology of the food being wrong, no mention of the food. We had to ask where it was for her to say it’ll be 5 minutes (no apology for the food being wrong).
It was a very disappointing experience as we have come out just the two of us, we didn’t eat together which ultimately the point of going out for dinner together (I didn’t end up eating, by the third time of it being wrong I had given up). I’ve given the review 2 stars and that is for the runner...
