We were invited to try and to provide an unbiased review on Pad T’Aye in Hamilton. Our full video review can be found on Instagram and TikTok under TheOliveTreeFamily For starters, we got the corn fritters and the Thai fish cakes. Freshly made, definitely nothing from the freezer here. They came with these dipping sauces. This was the sweet plum sauce. But this sauce here, they called it the Laab sauce, it was so good. It is made with chilli, mint and coriander. This is a the sizzling Crying Tiger Beef dish. My eyes lit up when it came out. It’s a 28 day aged ribeye steak with a Thai twist. I got it with duck fat chips. My son got the king prawn fried rice. It comes with these massive butterfly cut tiger prawns. The rice has a lovely flavour too. Definitely different to Chinese style fried rice. We just had to try their Pad Thai given as it’s their signature dish. It did not disappoint. They have a Tasting Menu on the last Thursday of every month. This is a 6 course sit in dining experience. It gets booked out fast, so be quick! Opens from 4pm and closed Tuesday and Wednesday 10/10 for us, and we will be back soon!

Pad T'Aye in Hamilton is a true gem for those seeking authentic Thai cuisine. The quality of food here is unparalleled, with each dish showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients that come together in a perfect harmony of flavours. The tang in their dishes is balanced just right, cutting through the richness and leaving a memorable taste. The interior, inspired by Thai culture, adds to the charm of this small but heartfelt establishment. It's cosy and inviting, making you feel transported to Thailand itself, alongside the banging beats! The staff at Pad T'Aye truly make the experience special. Their down-to-earth nature and evident passion for Thai cuisine add a layer of warmth to the dining experience that's rare to find. A highlight of their menu is the Crying Tiger Beef – an absolute must-try that leaves a lasting impression with its succulence and depth of flavour. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Pad T'Aye. It's a place that combines great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and genuine hospitality to create a dining experience that's both authentic and memorable.

I dont even know where to start with our experience tonight, the food was to die for, Liam and his team were so welcoming, made a dish not on the menu for our fussy daughter and all in all made it a lovely night with the most amazing food. We had, Crying tiger beef bites Bbq street chicken bites Chicken panang with fried rice option Duck fat curly fries Prawn tempura Green thai mussels Shrimp prawn crackers (specially handmade chicken nuggets for fussy child 🙈😂) We also paid £5 corkage which is a great idea. I'm a fussy eater and wasn't sure what I could and would eat but everything i had was absolutely amazing and left me wanting more and more and can't wait to go back, whilst there we booked our next night for the taster menu 🥰🥰🥰 the crying tiger bites were the best thing ever and definitely my favourite but im kicking myself that I didn't get it as a main 😂 Absolutely brilliant wee spot and highly highly recommended. Thank you

Had dinner here after seeing the reviews and was local to us. Wee restaurant in the centre of Hamilton , only 4 tables so I'd book ahead.

Staff were really friendly , chef/owner was having to help with the service alongside cooking as the waitress wasn't well. For that reason the service was a bit slower than usual but it didn't bother us .

The !emu has a a good selection of dishes.

We went for the beef bites starter and chicken gyozas and we're given prawn crackers and dips on the house .

The beef was brilliant , really flavourful and still soft. Chicken gyozas were nice but once you dip them I'm the sauce they were as good as the beef.

The sweet chilli and spicy dips were both made from scratch and you can definitely tell , unreal fresh punchy flavours.

Mains we had the Thai green chicken curry with fried rice and the prawn pad Thai.

The pad Thai was nice , again fresh flavours with lovely prawns , only gripe was I would have like it spicier and with the chef being busier than usual I didn't want to trouble him (although Im sure he would have done it mo problem)

The green curry was perfect , perfect seasoning throughout , spicy, tangy , fresh , creamy 👌 along with the fried rice , which you would think it's just fried rice , even that alone was perfect .

Got talking to the chef and he does taster menus every month. So we will definitely be going back for that.

Can't fault the food , service was great although a bit slow but as mentioned this was just unfortunate due to a staff member being unwell.

Overall great dinner , food was great , staff were lovely I would...

Food- everything was really nice (fish cakes were small and only got 4 bits- reason for 4/5).

Service- women who took my order over the phone was nice . Time management of restaurant was very poor. When I ordered I was told 45 minutes, I clarified on the phone asking if it was actually 45 mins or should I come down later as I just didn’t want to be stood about (which happened last time I ordered when I waiting in the car after being told 5-10 mins. I went back in 20 mins later and get told the fryer had just broken and got half the order with no apology). I was then told actually to come in 55 mins- totally fine for a Saturday evening. I arrived a hour after placing the order and get told 5-10 mins and to wait in my car. Long story short it took another 25/30minutes. Original pick up time-50 mins, actual 85 mins.

My issue is not necessarily with the wait time itself but with the fact that there’s an obvious mismanagement of timings that’s then put onto the customer. If you only have one member of staff cooking account for it when telling someone their pick up time or don’t accept the order if you need to focus on tables in the restaurant. I was then made to feel like I was in the wrong ‘you can see it’s only me in here’ and ‘I asked you to wait in your car’ (I did for 15 mins). I sympathise to a point but you knew your capacity when accepting the order so the onus of that is not with me. I did receive an apology when I explained my frustrations but I can’t say it felt sincere. Food was tasty tho but not...

Really delicious food, well worth paying for. Plenty of vegan options too which isn't easy to find in the area. Unfortunately when we booked to go again, we got refused. I'd still recommend this place on balance, just be aware it is small and cash only so not somewhere you can just pitch up to at a busy time. Longer story: We did turn up 20 minutes late (because they're cash only and we couldn't find a cash point), but I had called ahead to let them know and they said that was fine. They thought we were 2 people not 3 so didn't have a table ready, so they asked us to wait for 10 minutes. We waited for 20 minutes and when we asked how much longer it would be the chef told me we'd turned up half an hour late and didn't book for 3, but should wait 10 mins longer. As he seemed busy and stressed I asked if he'd prefer we just leave and he said yeah that's probably best. Miscommunications do happen, but I felt he was defensive about it instead of just apologising and telling us they were too busy to serve us, which would have been okay. Similarly in response to my original review he accused my friends of being drunk when actually we'd come straight from work (and one had just been...
