Pink Kiwi — Restaurant in Great Britain

Ive never left a negative review, but our experience was really disappointing. Me and my friend arrive and it was empty, we ordered French toast and avocado on toast. Strangely, we had to pay upfront, while others who arrived later did not. After 30 minutes, my friend finally received her iced latte, but we were still waiting for food and four other tables were served food before us and before my friend even received her drink.

I politely asked about our order, thinking it may have been missed, but instead of a helpful response, the manager began speaking negatively about us within earshot making rude comments and aggressively saying how she will come out herself and tell us. She then came out with clear attitude, saying she was cooking and that our order was different, though it was nearly identical to others we’d seen go out and we ordered first and some time before other people even came in.

I had brought a friend visiting from out of town and was excited to try this place, but the unfriendly service and unprofessional behavior made us feel very uncomfortable. Judging by how negative reviews are responded to, this seems to be a recurring issue. I wish we had the positive experience others mention, but sadly that wasn’t the case and won’t be recommending.

Thank you for taking the time to respond back and appreciate the apology. While my drink was made straight away (when no one else was in there) the rest of the service was unfortunately not on and ordered our food and paid before any other tables came in and politely checked if my order had perhaps been forgotten after watching the 4th table be served and waited a while. Was not the case I was not satisfied with the waitress response I was not satisfied with the aggressive tone and passive aggressive remarks made from yourself in the kitchen to the service at the table which was again unfortunate and made a very hostile and uncomfortable environment should be no justification for that.

I stood up to go check with yourself/waitress once as I couldn’t get any of yours attention to check at my table to see if it had perhaps been forgotten. And again was only after the 4th table had been served and we had been there a while waiting and politely checked. You came over very passive aggressively to check once and explain after saying in the kitchen for all to hear ‘I’ll tell her that myself’ it’s very disappointing you seem to not be able to take on any feedback from any negative reviews and improve your customer service instead make up lies and justify every single review. The food was not the problem as you can see in the review it’s the attitude you had which you’re clearly demonstrating in your responses back to people. You can apologies, acknowledge and take on feedback without being so rude in your responses back to people and making up random justifications. So so disappointing...

Catering review 2023:

I have had the opportunity to try food from various catering companies, but Pink Kiwi has truly raised the bar and exceeded all expectations! I cannot express how thrilled we are to have worked with them. The owner's kindness and helpfulness made the entire experience even more enjoyable ❤️.

Let's talk about the food itself... it was absolutely AMAZING! Without a doubt, Pink Kiwi is the best catering option in Cardiff. The combination of quality and price is unbeatable! As the event organiser, there was nothing more satisfying than seeing our guests thoroughly relishing the food. It was a true delight!

The sandwiches they prepared were on a whole new level. The chicken tikka and hummus/carrot sandwiches received numerous "WOWs" from everyone who tried them. The flavors were outstanding and left a lasting impression.

Now, let's discuss the desserts. Wow, just wow! The red velvet cake balls and lemon drizzle cake received rave reviews from our guests. Each bite was met with sheer delight and the flavors were absolutely divine.

The savory menu was equally impressive. The meatballs, samosas, pizza, pasta, salad, and sausage rolls vanished within minutes! The level of satisfaction was evident with each "WOW" and the sound of contentment echoed through the venue. People couldn't help but exclaim "mmm" with every mouthful of the menu items. It was a true feast for the senses.

I must also highlight the success of the gluten-free and halal menu. Our guests with specific dietary requirements were extremely pleased with the variety and taste of the options available to them (sandwiches, savoury snacks and desserts) Pink Kiwi went above and beyond to ensure everyone's needs were met.

Pink Kiwi has set a new standard for catering in Cardiff. The remarkable quality of their food, combined with their reasonable prices, make them an unparalleled choice. The outstanding service and attention to detail provided by the owner further enhance the overall experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Pink Kiwi to anyone in search of exceptional catering services.

So this is my honest review of the place -We saw this place online, tik tok, Instagram etc so we thought we would come and try it! we walked in and the atmosphere was nice, warm and cosy. There was 4 tables other than us so not too busy (cant comment about online order as they might have been busy). We sat down and were given menus. We already decided in about 5 minutes what we wanted and we patiently waited. 20 minutes had gone and no one approached us to take our order or to even say they needed more time or anything so we at least knew why we are waiting which would have been fine but this was not the case. After 20 minutes had gone by we decided to leave as I was annoyed because no one came to our table. So we left and the owner came out saying to come back and she's ready to cook our food but myself I wasn't happy enough as I waited long enough. My partner insisted we go back inside to give it a chance so we did. We then ordered and waiting not long for our food. I found it abit strange that we had to pay before we even ate because usually people would pay after receiving the service but alright it is what it is. Presentation and quality was very good. No faults in that part But one point that really set me off was that there was 3 pieces of eggshell in my fried eggs. I told the server quietly that FYI I found these in there as I didn't want to complain. I was surprised even after waiting ages to order, which led us to leave then coming back to eat and have egg shells in my food the owner would have at least come to our table and asked us how it was considering after everything. The owner spoke to the other tables whilst they left that came and said bye but didn't say it to us. In my opinion even if they was understaffed or too busy, if they had prioritized taking our order at the very minimum that would have made the situation better but that wasn't the case unfortunately. Food wise, taste and presentation was 5 stars. Service is a 1 star.
