Roath Park as it was called when I was a child is a lovely Park that has become even better Pleasure Park for all ages. You have the play ground with swings and slides that are great fun for youngsters. You must supervisor your own child/children. The grassed area where you can play ball games. The Boating lake where you can hire rowing boats and Pedallos for a charge and enjoy the lovely lake area. In the Lake you will see the Lighthouse commemorating Captain Scotts voyage leaving Cardiff Docks on a Polar Expedition. There are Rose Gardens for you to look around, lovely trees and bushes and a Tropical green house. Public Toilets are available, Cafe, and...

Kids play area is fantastic, lots of frames, swings and a giant slide. Gardens and grounds are beautiful, and the ducks and swans are very friendly and come very close. Only downside is the lake itself, years of Blue Algae have meant hiring a boat is no longer an option. Ice cream van on site, prices not to bad (compared to shops by main entrance), standard toilet facilities - not the cleanest but i have seen far worse. Great place for a picnic with the kids, or a stroll with...

The pleasure gardens in the central park, between roath park lake (with playground, lake, cafe, boats etc) and Roath Rec (gym equipment/ open field). The pleasure gardens has lots of beautiful flowers, a tennis court, bowls, basketball and a river running alongside. It also has public toilets. Dogs are not supposed to be off lead here, but there's always one or two rubbing around off their lead. The park also closes at night.

In the mid winter sunlight washes away the gloom, and evergreen bushes scent the air with fragrant bloom. Fair water fast fills the ever winding brook, and eager runners pass a favourite nook. Not without reason these gardens offer pleasure, for within is a reward of green garlanded treasure. Sports like tennis and bowls can wait the spring, for now the walkers walk and birds sing.

I love walking in this park everyday. It makes me happy and peaceful. You can smell the lilies and the other flowers. Sometimes I don't go back home. People are polite and lovely. They walking with their children and dogs.
