Roasters — Restaurant in Great Britain

Asked to book a table for 10.30am a couple weeks ago and was told they don’t take bookings til 4 which is totally fine but decided against it that day and thought will just try another day. Went in at 4 today asking if theres any tables of two and he scoffed and bluntly said ‘We’re shut… it’s 4 o’clock’ looking at his watch, as if this was such obvious information and in a manner that made me feel I was stupid for not knowing. As well as being told via DM that they take bookings from 4 onwards, their instagram bio clearly says they are open until 7 and they take bookings between 4-6 and there was nothing to say they were shutting at 4 other than google but I thought this mustn’t be up to date info since their instagram bio says 7pm (with large red exclamation marks) and they seem to keep their instagram more up to date and use this as their main form of communication with their customers. Wouldn’t even really have been a bad experience if i got a simple ‘Sorry, we arent open for dinner/late tonight’ or ‘we only open late on X/Y/Z days’ ‘we are open late tomorrow if you’d like to book a table’ honestly, anything really would’ve been a better response than the attitude I got. Evidence of rat droppings and cigarette butts around the side and in the back of the cafe. in the summer it’s a complete fly trap due to full bins not emptied enough. Seen deliveries coming through the flats close when arriving and was still sitting when leaving an hour later which includes perishable foods. Foods alright but overpriced, service ok. tables are way too close for comfort. overall wouldn’t recommend

Deliveries are put away as soon as they are received, the bins are emptied 4 times a week and never an issue. We have absolutely no traces of vermin, with monthly visits from pest control to ensure regulations are met. Thank you for your feedback however this is not a reflection of Roasters and is massively false.

You claim that you follow the above protocol this does not change what has been seen when visiting. All i ask is a further internal investigation to improve your practices as your shop is on the high street and therefor affects more than just your customers (passers-by/ students/ residents/...

I've been dying to try this place for ages after seeing all the viral videos on TikTok. Arrived mid morning and it was mobbed - a good sign this place is as good as it looks! We had to wait bout 15 mins to get seated but it was well worth it and this place did not disappoint! The staff were so friendly, accommodating and attentive and the owner spent time chatting away to us and making sure we were happy with the food and service. We didnt have to wait long for our breakfast and OMG it was so delicious and well worth the trip! Love the decor and the place has obviously grown a loyal fan base - and I can see why! Deffo excited to see what the owner does to expand the place as there were people waiting and queuing in the snow so more tables/seats are needed to keep up with the demand.
