We ordered on deliveroo. 1 classic burger, 1 americano burger, 2 chicken wraps, 2 peri chips and 2 milkshakes
Both chicken wraps came as lamb wraps. It was quite funny actually, because one was actually labelled as lamb, and the other as chicken. So even though we were annoyed to see the lamb label on one, we were shocked to find the one labelled chicken was also lamb. So, that's a third of our meal already wrong and we didn't get to eat. (Well, was meant to he next days lunch but...due to the below state of burgers they were GOING to be our dinner)
The burgers...they were basically just gristle. I don't mind a bit of gristle here and there, they can't be perfect and I've never been fussy. But every bite of BOTH burgers was more gristle than meat. My slightly less tolerable partner didn't get past 2 bites of hers because the texture of the gristle was unbearable. I chowed through mine because I was hungry, but the texture was gross and it was flavourless due to there not being much actual meat in there. I mean the rest of the burger was quite naff as well, literally got one half-palm sized piece of soggy lettuce leaf (not even the crunchy part of the lettuce) and 3 slices of onion.
The chips were OK, I mean, we basically did just eat those for dinner.
The milkshakes were delicious! Yay!
Deliveroo refunded us for the wraps, but not the burgers. Fair enough, I mean, not really fair enough. We paid £30 for 2 chips, 2 milkshakes, and a small slab of gristle in bread. Even with the refund making that £23. That's an awful dinner for the price
I'd honestly just go to McDonald's next time. Sure, the milkshakes are lovely. But if I were that desperate for a nice minty milkshake I would maybe buy that standalone, get a cheese burger from maccies for 99p, some fries and sprinkle some peri on there myself. Would cost me less than a tenner for the two of us to eat ane drink and would have been far...
Read moreCame here for our sons birthday it was empty when we walked in so customer service expected to be second to none. The young lad behind the counter could have made a little more effort in welcoming us to the place a quick hello welcome where would you like to be seated or even a smile (why so serious) etc would have not hurt. We placed our order of 5 meals. They all came out reasonably in short waiting time. The burgers we had were a good presentation with a nice touch in serving food on a slate. All the burgers were juicey and delicious. Generous amounts of toppings. The chips were standard notting award winning the portions can be slightly more as they come in a metal bucket and not filled to the top. Again the young lad could have came over and asked how our food was do we need anything else. We had to ask for napkins but this should be standard on the tables as the burgers can become messy and condiments dripping out. The price of the food is a little expensive but as a one off comfortable to afford. Overall lovely food especially burgers the place was nice and clean good seating arrangement. Brush up on making customers feel more welcome perhaps read between the lines that it may be someone's birthday (it was our sons as he had a big age badge on him) or a special occasion and perhaps a small discount or on the house milkshake wont break the...
Read moreOrdered the “smokin house special burger” and it was not special at all, very oily and very little flavour. Had it with a side of peri chips which unfortunately were slightly below expectations and lacked crispness and any real flavour. I also ordered a side of 6 “hot” wings which even the whitest person on the Dulux colour chart wouldn't find spicy. I must add that it is very low quality chicken compared to other competitors such as 5 Lads ect. The only saving grace with this meal was the milkshake. I got the “Willy Wonka” shake and it was minty and thiccer than Jorja Smith. However again there are competitors in Peterborough that do much nicer milkshakes. Overall I am very disappointed with what I ordered as it all sounded so promising on the menu but didn’t quite carry over into reality, and for the price you pay (just over £16) you would expect a lot more on the quality front. As this is a relatively new establishment I will give the benefit of the doubt, and with a few tweaks to the recipes and prices it might be a very good option when the pangs of hunger strike. But for me, I will not be ordering...
