I was recommended this place by a friend and I must say it was worth the travel and effort.
They have place for car park (one) in front of the restaurant which is very helpful. Their ambience is simple and yet vibrant. Service was first class got smiles from everyone from chef to waiter to guy (Hasan) at the till. As we were walking out three guys including chef asked how the food was which goes to show how much they care about feedback. Hasan was extra courteous. Food on the tawa was very authentic Lamb Karahi 5 star āļø authentic taste Chicken Karahi 5 āļø not creamy at all and was very good Daal I would give more stars 5 star again authentic taste considering portion size of all of the above it takes real skill to bring unique flavours on one big tawa and still be able to distinct which is which. Real credit to chef. Lamb chops were actually lamb and not Mutton thatās a bonus and were just right not over over cooked or burnt and had smoky flavour Chicken wings same Chicken tikka very tender and moist and again had Flavour and not just orange food colour that mostly restaurant use to give it tikka look so very good. Lamb tikka was the best starter. Tender moist smoky and melts in your mouth Sheesh kebabs were the only thing I wonāt give 5 stars to. In fact I wonāt miss them if they were not there next time. Their sauces were absolutely amazing real skilled person can make those sauces. Hot creamy grainy yet not runny. Bit of lemon juice (fresh) would have made both sauces the best I have ever had but absolutely amazing effort. Best thing about all of the above is that everything made was unique flavour and yet had the authenticity of actual dish in them whether it was Karahi or chutney. Toilet was clean and tidy (did give feedback that a plastic water pot would be nice to have as there were only tissues considering Muslim needs) Overall after 1 and a bit hour drive from reading was absolutely worth it. Would highly recommend and would certainly come back with family.
Suggestion to all I would ring them before going over and give around 40/50 minute to prepare the food as it takes time to bring all dishes on one big plate (tawa) so be mindful of timings and donāt go in extra hungry and expect the food to be served in 10/15 minutes which is reasonable time mostly.
Thereās plenty of shops around for wives and kids to be busy with before heading to restaurant and thereās huge masjid literally 4/5 minutes walk from restaurant. I donāt normally say this often however being there first time it was one of best restaurants I have been to. Credit to them all....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve heard such a great things from this place and I was hoping it would live up to but Iām incredibly disappointed I have to write this review.
I ordered the mega mixed tawa and Iāll talk through each item.
Lamb karai . Really oily, too salty and the meat feels overcooked and chewy 2/10
Chicken karai. A lot better but still missing some spices you would expect 5/10
Chips - fried in old oil and nothing special 4/10
Dahl - probably the best thing about the meal. Tasted like wedding Dahl and a hood amount given 6/10
Naan - again nothing special just a standard naan 5/10
Lamb chop - Iāve attached a pic and youāll see. One of the chops had no meat on it and the other which did was over cooked and powdered with spice 1/10
Meat kebab - pretty standard nothing special 5/10
Chicken kebab - I see a correlation of their chicken being a lot better than the meat. 6/10
Chicken cubes - okay but very dry 4/10
Meat cubes - very dry and chewy 2/10.
As you can see I really wanted my experience to be as those who have told me to be great but it was anything but.
To top it off the food came badly packaged and it all had spilled and came...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were headed to a different restaurant but due to traffic we decided to just cut our losses and try here instead. Turned out to be a great decision! Iāll get the negative out of the way - the food took way too long to arrive, I understand that itās made fresh, and there was a table ahead of us with a big order, but you have to find a way of not making people wait almost 45 minutes. The lassi wasnāt a great choice either as it was quite runny and I felt like it wasnāt mixed properly, but that may be the Kashmiri style.
With that done, I was pleasantly surprised with the portion size, and the taste was absolutely on point! The grilled options were done just right, and the curries were soft and full of flavour. Even the rice which is usually plain, had a nice aroma.. The decor was done tastefully, with decent seating space and I loved the little ātawaā dishes placed on the wall! As you enter, it doesnāt look the most inviting as the counter looked quite bare but as you go past that to the seating area there is a cosy, family friendly vibe.
All in all, I really enjoyed my experience here and will definitely...
