The Alpine — Restaurant in Great Britain

Me, my partner and our little boy came here for lunch whilst we were on holiday. As we walked in they were so welcoming and friendly. They made a fuss over our little boy and brought a high chair and books for him straight away. This we were so grateful for as it’s so hard to distance a one year old whilst you’re eating. We both had the specials on the menu the chorizo panini and the chicken and bacon baguette. They were both delicious and had a very good portion for the price. Our little boy had fish fingers chips and beans off the kids menu. This was cooked fresh and went down a bit. This was a big portion for our little boys but was lovely.

The service was very attentive throughout although when we wanted to pay the host had disappeared. We did had to wait some time to pay. This was not too much of a problem at the time. The cafe was very quiet with a very chilled atmosphere but we did come here out of season.

I would definitely come here...

Called in for breakfast a year ago lovely but got charged wrong been back few times since but the days we were there the alpine was closed The food staff drinks are all excellent very very friendly and attend to you very professionally we love it here a lot better than anywhere in bowness Because we were charged wrong on the day we went I mentioned this and showed the waiter the e mail I got back from the owner saying he was sorry and we could have a free breakfast True to his word we not only got 1 free breakfast but 2 and drinks as well We wanted to pay but said no I would really recommend The Alpine for all types of food and the service is excellent 5 stars plus to them all will be...

Terrible service. We walked in and waited something like 10 minutes. We asked why they didn’t take our order and we were just told we had to wait. Another 10 minutes later or so, they took the order of another table, who arrived after us. When I waved at them (just a small wave!!) they told me I was intimidating the staff (???) and strongly suggested we leave. Every follow up conversation was answered the same way: “if you are not happy to wait you can leave”.

I also heard them complain about other customers (no idea if that was justified).

Anyway we walked out at this point.

Many reviews are suspicious at least. Just avoid this place, there are better...
