We ordered a takeaway amounting to £73 +, not that it's about the price if the food is good, however we ordered a sharing platter for 2 people. The chicken was dry, either reheated or overcooked. The only thing that was nice was the prawn toast and this was a quarter of a slice of breads worth.
We all had mains, I had the Pad Khing, out of all 3 this was the best and tasted authentic, however gave me extreme belly ache and I was sick in the night. My wife had the Prawn Pad Thai and she said the prawns were inedible, she had half of one, they were very tough. My mother in law had the Gaeng Daeng and the sauce literally tasted like a packet mix, there was no flavor at all. I ate all of mine, however as stated my wife and mother in laws meals were inedible.
We call up to complain considering there shouldn't be this much wrong with a £70 takeaway and were initially told by a man on the phone that £35 would be refunded no problem as this was fair, after 5 minutes of waiting we were then told that no money would be refunded unless all the food was returned. As suggested some of the food was edible and eaten, the rest of it was chucked in the bin so unless we were going to scoop out every bit of chicken, prawn and sauce then it just simply isn't possible, they then put the phone down on my mother in law. This was the last night of our stay in Bowness and really soured the holiday. The drive back to Oxfordshire was not pleasant the next day due to stomach issues caused by the food.
Terrible customer service and don't give a expletive about you or your order, probably because we told them we were going home...
Read moreBased on a very positive reccomendation, me and my girlfriend booked a table at Siam for 20:00 at around midday, only to arrive along with several other customers that were also booked for 20:00 to be told that there was no space. We waited outside on the pavement until 20:20, where we discovered we had never been added to the booking sheet. Most other customers left when the 20:15 slot arrived.
We were seated outside, and a distinct lack of social distancing measures were in place. My girlfriend was back-to-back with another customer from another household. We were also within one meter of the table to the side, and the table behind. Social distancing aside, it was a cramped environment.
Food orders were taken promptly for the Buffet option A. The food stood up to other good Thai food we've had, so no complaints there. Full of flavour and hot.
Upon paying the bill I declared I wasn't happy with the service, and asked if two drinks could be removed from the bill. I was asked if 'I wanted to play games?' and told 'there is only one kitchen', and eventually payed the full bill. The reaction from the waitress was extremely defensive and very unprofessional, which suggests she also knew the service was poor yet refused to admit liability on behalf of the restaurant.
I wouldn't normally leave a review, but the poor service received has compelled me to leave this. The most disappointing fact is that others have had favourable experiences, yet couldn't see why this would...

I had booked a table in advance (on a Monday night) but when we arrived they were clearly too busy. After being stood outside for 15 minutes and asked what table we wanted by three different people I was starting to get frustrated, especially when someone came out and showed two people without a booking to a table inside whilst ignoring us.
Eventually we were offered a table that had just come spare outside (it was nearly 9pm) but we asked if we could sit inside. 2 minutes later we were told that was all we could have so we took it. At the same time we could see tables coming free inside that people were just turning up and taking, they hadn't even checked.
The table was rickety and cramped in a corner with a loose top.
Service took ages whilst staff had to squeeze past my girlfriend every time they came past.
I love Thai food so much I could never not enjoy it but the food was bang average, the worst Thai meal I've had in a long while.
I ALWAYS tip and joked to my girlfriend this would be the first time she'd ever see me not tip in the six years we've been together.
At the end of the meal they'd even put a 10% service charge on the meal! I paid rather than ask for them to remove it as I felt sorry for the overworked waitress but took the rating down from 2* to 1*.
I'd never, ever...
