Where to even start! I have been to Dockyard many times now since moving the Glasgow in July. We have been along on Sundays with the family, on date nights with my partner, to the drag bingo as a group of friends and every time has been unbelievable! The staff are always so helpful, often greeted by Scott and Tom on arrival who have always been friendly and familiar faces keen to give us any info we need and help us settle into our booking. We often ask Laurie and Taylor on the bar to surprise us with a cocktail and they're always spot on. The guys running the food and clearing the tables are always super friendly as well and always do what they can to answer our questions should we have any. The food is sooooooo good! We have eaten from every single trader now and have always loved it! The pizzas/garlic bread are such a good size and delicious every time. The buffalo chicken tenders and tamarind fries are our favourites from Mcfly's and are GREAT. The chicken gyro is beautiful as well as the halloumi fries from Gyro King. We always get a mixed pakora from Fusion Pakora and the variety of flavours and quality of them is so good! Haven’t had a hot dog from Durty Dogs but have tried the fries and they’re heavenly. Chloe’s birria tacos are quite literally out of this world! Noi always has something new to try and its always amazing! And finally the desserts and ice cream from Peacocks are incredible! Really unique and delicious flavours! The atmosphere is so cosy even on the quieter days and always nice and warm, which is great especially as it's a big space! When its busy in Dockyard it really is buzzing, not too loud so you cant hear each other but full of different groups of friends/families/couples so everyone feels welcome! Especially the doggos as they are dog friendly all year round and even put on special dog events! We love taking pics in the photo booth, its become a little tradition of ours plus all the cool events they do throughout the year really keep this place ahead of the game!

Perfect for food, not for drink The warehouse which houses DS is perfect for the event. Not as big as Big Feed so it feels cosier, although on Feb afternoon it still suffered from BF's main problem which is it's freezing in the winter. Electric heaters dotted about did little to heat the place up and we had to head to one of Finnieston's bars after an hour. The artwork on the walls is fantastic, really adding to the street food feel. The choice of food is overwhelming, with almost everything being catered for although - unusually for Glasgow - no burgers. While sounding a bit boring for only serving chips, Abandon Chips loaded fries hit the spot (haggis and black pudding) The bar is pretty poor compared to BF's. A free Budweiser on entry (really? Bud? At a hipster street food festival) with only Estrella on draught (of which the pilsner is described in BeerAdvocate as "a completely unpleasant experience". I would expect a better class of beer - and local beer at that. Some cans in the fridge ranging from £4 - £5 but still a poor choice Dockyard Social had the potential to be 5 stars but the you-could-see-your-breath coldness and bar dropped it down a star each

3 reasons for 1 star 1)Food was undistinguishable from what was on the menu. On our mezze platter we couldn’t figure out which one was the babaganoush. 3 of the four dips were a variation on red pepper hummus. The Philly cheese steak waffle fries on the menu promised: waffle fries, sautéed peppers and onions, shredded cheese; chopped beef; and a cheese sauce. Out Of these 5 ingredients what was delivered to the table a half hour after ordering only had 2 of the 5 ingredients - chopped beef and the mysterious nacho cheese sauce. Waffle fries had become curly fries and shredded cheese and onions and peppers were no existent.

When a place cares more about it profits than delivering what it said it would deliver, that’s not a place I want to frequent. If you don’t have the majority of the ingredients- take it off the menu instead of promising something and not delivering.

  1. all the food was served on single use, disposable plates etc. The waste this place sends to landfill daily must be huge. Why? Cause it’s easier to throw something away than pay someone to clean it and/or making space for cleaning and keeping reusable dish ware. Profits before the environment is just greedy and not thinking about your social responsibility.

  2. Despite masks being required indoors and covid in a spike at the moment, not a single worker was wearing one. Either the company actively encouraged employees not to wear one or they did nothing to enforce the mask wearing by staff. It’s not an outdoors, you can’t smoke in there as it’s defined as “enclosed”. Yet their disregard for social responsibility reeks of profit hungry, corporate attitudes which are reinforced by the other 2 reason I listed.

I would not recommend visiting here if you feel companies should be responsible to the promise they made their customers or if they should consider larger social issues instead of putting...
