I arrived in Amesbury last night, I really needed to eat something but everything was closed... At 10pm 😮 So I really need to have a huge breakfast. I came across the Friar Tuck cafe and ordered the "biggest ever" - 2 bacon, 2 sausages, 2 eggs, 4 hash browns, mushroom, beans, tomatoes, black pudding, toast and fried bread. This gigantic meal was devoured in 15 minutes. Partly because of my hunger but also because the breakfast was unbelievably nice. The service was quick and the staff were really friendly. If I'm ever in Amesbury Town I'll certainly go back and tackle the 'biggest ever ' again 😊

The worst breakfast ever... Avoid always been fantastic but new owners omg. Fried bread was rock hard and full of greese hash browns full of oil mushrooms swimming in oil on plate toast not even toasted poor quality bread used. Hair nets not being used by cooks therefore hair ended up on our plate as shown in picture deffinatley avoid at all costs will never come bk

Typical greasy spoon cafe. Decor is a little dated, although there are plenty of tables. Food came quite quick. Place could do with being a little tidier/ cleaner, but then again, you get what you pay for Very reasonably priced. Was quite busy when we went, so a few tables were piled up with dirty cups, plates and cutlery. Overall good and would go again.

Not in the least impressed by this establishment. Firstly I was ignored by two staff members just walking past a few times whilst i stood waiting a while at the till, finally I was acknowledged ordered just 2 ice-creams To which hadn't taken notice of price until i sat down with my children and saw they was actually advertised on their board menu for £2.15 but had charged me £4.35 each instead! As my children was busy picking over their random looking sundae's presented to them saying it tasted horrible, i was really confused how the place was being allowed to operate - walls, floor, tables everything was vile, unclean, my opinion drastically not up-to a good enough hygiene standard. not to mention the toilets! - Then got worse, as another couple had ordered food (we was sat by the till area) overheard the lady ask if something on her order can be changed - this was followed up with a member of staff giving attitude towards her customer resulting her the customer then declining the food there and then as she was upset by the way she was treated. rightly so!. At that point i had heard and seen enough so my children and i left, leaving the half eaten sundae's and will never return to the grim...

Firstly, I liked the staff as they made me feel comfortable and were helpful and friendly. My daughter (3) really enjoyed the experience of eating here. It's was nice and quiet. However, it is very, very, VERY dirty. The tables were sticky, cobwebs everywhere and it looked dirty. The staff should have definitely been cleaning while they weren't busy. Our table even had a scratch card left on it and a lady came in and sat behind us and asked for it to bin because she left it YESTERDAY! So the tables hadn't been cleaned for 24hrs minimum! This lady was obviously a regular and was discussing the cleaning issue with her friend. They were saying how they liked coming in but it was getting ridiculous.

I liked the booths to sit in but the decor could use an update. The food is very greasy spoon and the chip and sausage were obviously just recooked/heated for us in a fryer. The coffee was alright, nice and large. It was all a great price for...

Went for breakfast with my wife and kids. Food quality was fine and basic menu prices looked good, but had a couple of issues.

First off I felt we were overcharged wherever possible when we ordered. For example I asked if the eggs in some of the breakfasts could be scrambled, and they said yes, but without mentioning it they added over £4 to our bill for that (for 1 adult and 2 kids). On the other hand the final total was still ok for what we got I guess.

Also it was fairly quiet when we ordered -- only a couple of other tables were occupied -- and we all ordered cooked breakfasts, so nothing complicated (except the scrambled eggs!), but it still somehow took ~40 minutes for our food to arrive. And when it did it had obviously been sitting on the side for a while as it definitely wasn't hot.

So the food tasted ok, and even with the extras the price wasn't too bad, but our overall experience...
