Tandoori Nights — Restaurant in England

This is one of those curry restaurant you come across by accident. We were fishing in the area for a couple of days and decided have dinner at this restaurant. Being Monday the venue was a bit quite but we were welcomed with a smile a big smile and directed towards our table. We were served by an elderly gentleman who we nicked name Cha Cha ( uncle in south Asian dialect). He was chatty and told us the history of the restaurant …. also noticed a few photos of late Terry Wogan enjoying his curry here. The food that were served to us was genuinely very good. The fish curry was exceptionally good. They say, no one cooks a fish curry better than a Bengali and the saying certainly lived up to the expectation. We had ordered other dishes too and they were all sinfully tasty and flavoursome. You know you go to curry houses and all the dishes taste the same, because the chef uses the same sauce base for every dishes. Here, that was not the case, each individual dish taste different as it should do and we enjoyed our dinner and the evening immensely. We had a local friend who had never had a chance to visit the restaurant but after this he said he was going to visit the place regularly and also bring is family and friends to it. Our hats off to all the staff especially to Cha Cha for making our evening so enjoyable and our sincere compliments to the chef. We would like to come here to taste this again. Splendid!...

I have Just visited Tandoori nights and I had the Tandoori mixed grill and Tarka dall. First impressions was pretty pricey and with the menu being to vast it had to be a lot of frozen meat,ie ostrich,duck,lobster ECT,..Trying to hard yo stand out from the rest ,instead of concentrating on making traditional dishes the best they can be.

However there was a few in do I thought I would give it ago. I was served pretty quickly and the food came out pretty fast even though there was a few in. I was surprised at the size of the portions add they was pretty generous and the quality of the meat was very good. Tasty and tender.(better than expected)

However on cutting into my chicken breast on the bone it was chilled in the middle and several other pieces of meat had cold spots. I assume the meat is precooked and just being reheated but not to temp ,as I say it was chilled in the middle, so obviously no tempreture probes being used . They advertise FRESH !!! At no point in my meal did anyone come to see if everything was ok.(not good service) When I asked for my bill it came and a service charge of 10% had been added automatically.

If I want to leave a tip it should be discretionary , not compulsory. I had already paid premium prices for cold food and...

Diabolical, if I could give zero stars I would!!

Ordered food via just eat at 1730, delivery due at 1830, paid for delivery (6.5 miles away)

No sign of food at 1845, so we called and they said its just a few minutes away.... Again time passed... it then arrived at 1930!!!

1 HOUR LATE!!! .. So no surprise the food was stone cold.

We phoned the shop directly and got passed to the manager who was ridiculously unhelpful,

Saying "I'm sorry, next time you order from us just mention this and we can do something for you" is absolutely not okay,

Also using the ridiculous excuses of its a new driver, we can't get everything right and all deliveries can't always be hot is absolutely shocking. Maybe have words with the new driver because then.

The manager did not offer us any hot food for the evening to replace the joke that turned up and when we asked for a refund he said you have to email just eat.

Will not be ordering here again and I would strongly suggest that any potential new customers read this and think again before...
