The Lamp House — Restaurant in Great Britain

One of the worst, most frustrating and humiliating experiences I have ever had in any restaurant or coffee shop. I ordered and paid for two families to have coffee (9 drinks), to take away. After 30-40 minutes it was clear they hadn’t even started making our order and there were 1-2 orders still ahead of us. The barrister was making one drink at a time, very, very slowly. I asked for a refund for my family’s half of the drinks… as our friends wanted to stay. Even though they hadn’t started the order yet, they wouldn’t refund me until my friend had paid for their half of the drinks… which I had already paid for in full. The bar staff are untrained and very unsuited to working in that type of busy environment. Neither did they seem to have any form of customer service qualities. I was made to feel like a second rate citizen by the rude staff. It ruined...

The atmosphere and decorations as well as the surroundings are stunning. The vibe is cosy and relaxed- I appreciated the gentle music allowing for conversation. The place seems very popular with dog owners - which is cute ☺️

I would advise that you bring some time with you when you come here. The service was so friendly yet it is a little on the slow side. We waited about half an hour to order and get our coffee. The coffee was absolutely superb though. There are vegan options available for cakes and milk.

Really poor customer service! Can’t believe how rude the staff is, my husband opened the door for me and the bartender rushed in in front of me! When asked about cocktails, she said they were very new so no cocktail menu but could do a basic one so ordered an espresso martini… she can’t make it, good looking cocktail but it was not nice. If you open a bar, please hire qualified staff instead of using “being new” as an excuse for serving bad cocktails. Stick to beers or wine if you go there would be my recommendation, as of for me, I wouldn’t rush back there. I’d rather go next...
