Fairly small but incredibly popular cafe. Large outdoor seating area, although it's not covered; however, there's also indoor seating should it be raining. Sells hot and cold drinks, breakfast style cobs, burgers, chips and cold cobs alongside cakes and really nice ice cream. Ice cream is excellent and really creamy, the sausage and egg cob was far bigger than expected and for £3.80 pretty good value for money. Eat in or takeaway. Unfortunately it's cash only.

Service without a smile.... First time visiting and we won't be going back. Clearly from the abundance of other reviews; others found the same disappointment, why is the Council not doing anything about this? Miserable staff member. Cash only. Poor choice of food, only cheap, nasty, cash and carry type stuff. No shade. Nasty, plastic furniture, dieing and dead plants in the seating area.

The park and gardens are popular so the cafe is quite busy, so I assumed it would be good, wrong. The tea and coffee are from a machine, nothing fresh, hot food is very limited, frozen chips etc. Nothing for vegans except chips and herbal tea. It's mediocre when it should be great.

Amazing Day to go to the park, sun was out and so were lots of people.

After our park trip we went to the cafe to get a little sweet for my nephew and this is where it all went wrong.

Lady's on the tills need to have better manners and if they don't like dealing with customers, should maybe consider leaving. So it's a happier and more welcoming place.

No Hello , Morning or welcome? I got the rudest eye roll because I had a £5 note for a 10p lolly ! When I apologised, I had no other change. She again gave me a rude look.

If my nephew wasn't 3 and already had the lolly in his hand I would have told her to leave the lolly. Also don't know why the ice cream machine hadn't been turned on as it was the perfect day for it? Just losing money Pathetic behaviour a sale is a sale She could have just gave him the lolly if giving me £4.90 change was a problem ! ( the lolly was also stale)

Apart from that Man that works in the back is lovely and always says hi when coming out and...

Nice big sign that says tables and chairs are for customers only, so we did the right thing and bought a bottle of water and a capri sun at Ā£3.30 and sat at one of the 6 empty tables. As we sat tucking into our home made sandwiches a lady came out and was about to tell us to move on when my wife pointed out we’d bought drinks. She gave us an ā€œI’ll let you off this timeā€ speech but told us she had a ā€œstandard to maintainā€. This is a public park love, not the London Astoria. I suppose she was as polite as she was capable considering she was being a total jobsworth trying to move on new parents with their little one because apparently our Ā£3.30 couldn’t possibly buy us 15 minutes in the shade with our 3 week old baby.

There is no sign that says we should only consume food bought on the premises, and this is after all just a seating area by the path in a public park. The place as far as I can tell sells ice creams and coffees. If you want people to only buy your food...

Had a lovely morning stroll around darley park with the dogs šŸ• Let me tell you something pal, the grass could do with a mow it was waist high in places! As for the tea rooms, this place is a little gem šŸ’Ž I went for the bacon and sausage cob with tommy ketch and it was a beaut. Came in a massive soft white roll with the sausage and bacon cooked to perfection, a real greasy spoon of a breaky. Washed it down with a lovely cup of tea and the dogs behaved very well, well of course they did foods involved! Very busy place we just managed to grab the last table and the weather was overcast, so imagine in the summer this place is going to be rammed to the rafters. If your ever in the area my lovely, pop down to these tea rooms it's a lovely little place nestled in the shrubbery of the park........cash only though because...
