Had a private function here after my children's baptism and we honestly cannot fault the service. Michelle was really friendly and helpful from first contact and nothing was too much for herself or the staff. We used their own catering which was amazing. Every guest commented on the quality of the food and there was a huge variety of delicious items to choose from including cold meats, pastas and a chinese/Indian selection. We had around 45/50 people and there was plenty of space in the function room for more than this too. The staff were more than happy to decorate the room for us and we were even able to take items the day before to save rushing around on the actual day. Can not think of a bigger way to say thank you for everything you ALL did for mine and Liams wedding day! From booking it in April last year to or arriving so fast, Michelle has gone above and beyond making sure our wedding day was perfect. It wasn’t just Michelle, it was the gardeners, the cleaners, the bar staff, and everyone else involved. Picked us up to take us to the church. Decorated everything for us. It was literally all about us and what we wanted. What ever we decide Michelle and her team made sure it was done. We’ve had nothing but praise from our family and friends saying how amazing it was and how much they enjoyed the food, dj, the atmosphere of the pub in general. Dating back to the 1800s, mentioned in bulmers history and directory of east Yorkshire 1892. This traditional pub has had a modern refurbished bright light clean, barrat show home look. Two pool tables, outdoor seating area, and car park to rear. The lounge is manly used as a function room now.Friendly helpful staff even offered a taster when enquiring about one of the beers. A wide selection of beers and larger, sadly no cask conditioned real ales which for me is a deal braker. A nice pub opposite St James Church handy for that pre wedding drink....
