Well there are lots of pubs around and decided to pop in for our dinner as 6pmish. Glad we did. It was quiet at first but people were slowly turning up. There was some low level music playing & a game machine in the corner playing a loop. The menu is not massive like other pub chains but thoughtfully laid out with some interesting and different meals. Bottles of wine start at under 10 quid and every day features a meal and drink deal for just under 6 quid. Live music, quiz nights and other themes. The food was fabulous well cooked chicken burgers with pulled chicken and bacon with spicy sauce. Crisp and hot chips. It's was served quickly and by very pleasant staff. Locally this pub served the best meal around and has a varied menu worth trying. There is a gluten free section too. Back again today 16/11/2017 as this pub has been refurbished. What a nice change. Smart, clean stylish looks. Old carpet gone & several pool tables added. Once again fab food. I had the tripple chicken burger with chips and a beer (2 chicken gougons, a fillet and pulled with bacon n cheese!!!) Wife had a chicken chees & bacon melt burger with chips snd a drink. All for £18.58. Nice selection of ales and house wone starts at £8.50 per bottle. Great service, food (hot till the end) & great value.. Ill add my pics to the general lot. Go there. They do theme nights and tonight (thursday) was grill n drink night. This is a big improvement on the original. We will be back again.

The saltshouse tavern on the corner of Dunvegan Road is a nice two room local pub, pool table and darts in the back room. Usually having three real ales on hand pumps. Quite an extensive food menu, I've never been disappointed when I eat here. Often have live music at a weekend. I have seen some good live bands here. A few TV screens showing live sport. Outside seating area to the front is a bit of a sun trap and very popular on nice days. Large car park to rear. Now dog friendly in the bar.

Came in tonight for my sisters birthday 6 of us in total, nice and easy no issue with seating as it was nice and quiet. The two members of staff Coutney and George where absolutely fabulous never fail to impress 😀 nothing was too big of an ask , absolutely pleasant the both of them 😀 absolutely fantastic with my daughter brought some colours out for her too so she was over the moon. Food was loverly didn't wait too long for it to come out as it was quite. My brother is vegetarian so sometimes it quite hard to find things for him to eat as it most places don't have a vast amount on the menu but he was able to find something and enjoyed it. last time we came it's wasn't the best experience as a family but this time we really enjoyed ourselves so we will...

I've been a regular of this pub since the 80's when it opened. I went in tonight to order chicken wings and a club sandwich, an hour later I spoke to the bar staff and was told the order hadnt been started due to just eat type orders taking priority, I got a refund. I do not blame the staff as they were great BUT if the management prioritise external orders above people who visit the pub and order drinks and want some thing to eat then they are on a slippery slope. Is the Saltshouse Tavern a Pub that offers food or a food out let. I am not happy. I have noticed for weeks this happening and was told just eat type orders take precedence, I will stop ordering food from today and reduce the...
