This place has gone downhill since covid. All the old staff are gone and the new staff are nowhere near as attentive. We went for a meal yesterday afternoon. We booked several days ahead because we were a large group and we specifically asked to be downstairs as we had some elderly people who struggle to walk up the stairs to the top seating area. We then arrived and were told they had set a table for us upstairs, so I explained we had requested downstairs and the waitress looked at me like I had two heads. Anyway we went upstairs as they had already set a table for us and because the plastic bench was directly in the sun it burned my partners legs when she sat down. We told them about this and could we sit somewhere else (ideally where we requested when we booked) also we were the only table up there and there’s no Atmosphere at all…Eventually they did start to move some tables together downstairs and seat us. The restaurant wasn’t busy, maybe half full but it took ages for someone to take out orders for drinks then food. Drinks normally take a few minutes to arrive but after 10 minutes we had to ask for them again. Starters came out another 10 minutes after, along with the kids meals. My daughter got a kids meal of pizza and chips. Amongst the chips was a prawn and a half cooked chicken nugget which must have fallen in the same fryer somehow. Good job she’s not allergic to seafood or a vegetarian or it could have been really severe. The waiter wasn’t concerned at all when we told him and brushed it off with a joke. The mains came out about 1 hour after order. We had to leave our seats to ask for drinks, to let them know we were ready for mains and even to pay. Just overall a really bad experience in a place that we used to visit weekly before covid with our family and really it. The service really lets this place down now. Such a shame because they had it right in the beginning but it’s nowhere near now. I hope the owners read this and do...
Read moreWe got ripped off but I'll explain at the end. We arrived just after 'happy hour' ago the place was packed. It didn't take long to get seated, however. We had a table for 2 towards the back. First thoughts.... it was freezing. The lovely blonde waitress serving us was also freezing despite dashing about. She said she'd put the heater on for us, but it didn't make much difference. I was warming my hands over the tea lights lol. Staff were attentive, but that was the main highlight. The calamari wasn't fully fresh & was rubbery. I didn't really enjoy it. My boyfriend enjoyed the potato skins although they weren't as good as other places. It was nice to have 2 dips served with these dishes. The pasta portion was very small, so I was hungry at the end of my meal. It was fairly tasty (more so with the parmesan cheese) but wasn't a rich sauce or much of it. My boyfriend said the parmesan was nice & the chips were okay but a little dry inside. He had a bottle of bud & I just had a tap water. My boyfriend paid the bill & I was getting a tip ready for politeness. However, my boyfriend wouldn't let me see the bill when I asked. I asked to show me, to check it's right as I always do. When I looked, it was £73.25. It should have been £38.80. As my boyfriend never questions anything, I'm pretty sure he was glad I was there as he was owed a whopping £34.45. I told the waiter how much it should be & that there'd been a bottle of red wine & 2 other mains put onto the bill. He said it must have been from the table before, but it can't have been since they paid their bill. Anyway, he kindly brought us £35 in change. Needless to say, though, we didn'tn leave a tip after that. Won't be in a hurry to return following...
Read moreUsed to think This place was great.
Glasses have been dirty on more then one occasion with lip stick left on them. When I first complained about this a couple of years ago one the members of staff just poured the drink from one glass to another and that’s when I stoppe spending money there.
Today my son wanted a pizza and thought we would give it another go.
They keep the knifes and forks right next to the public toilets that they use for customers on the right as you walk in.
Today watched three other unsatisfied customers with there meals being left or returned.
Tables set up after people had left that still had previous customers food left on the floor/under tables not a little a lot.
When informing a member of staff with a nose ring and blonde hair about this she just replied oh well someone else will clean it ?
Mussels we’re undercooked I cut my fingers open trying to open them never had this problem before. Now served in a pan placed on a plate why restaurants have started doing this and believe it looks good is beyond anyones belief.
No doubt I finished the meal but will not...
