We went in earlier on in the day, around lunchtime and was quiet. Ordered drinks which was nice. I asked the young girl behind the bar whether they allowed dogs to stay in the pub for bingo which she said yes but had to be out for the live entertainment afterwards. We turned up around 6:15 and got a table. Our dog laid nicely under our seat causing no bother. Around 1 hour later one of the bar staff came over and asked us to remove the dog from inside. I explained that I was told he could stay until the live entertainment started. She went to ask the owner, then went out back and spoke to someone else and come back and said no one told me this and we had to remove him immediately. The owner then announced over the PA very rudely the dog must go, although a member of his staff came over and spoke to us. This was quite intimidating and embarrassing as people then looked when we took the dog out. The owner is extremely rude and condescending, and made comments over the PA in which were incredibly offensive to me, one of which he said that the hard of hearing are in the house so people need to be quiet, amongst other derogatory remarks. This was very upsetting to me and my family as I am hard of hearing. The bingo although was good money, it was not worth the stop and start when people asked valid questions there would be a “fine” where people are made to put £1/£2 or more into a lifeboat fund. A game of bingo that should take around 10/15 mins per page took double the time! We left after the book games, we would not have stayed for bingo, however we wasted our hard earned money already on the books so didn’t have much of a choice. We did not stay for the flyer game as was uncomfortable. I am all for raising money and bingo fun but this was too far! The caller/owner were using all sorts of language over the PA with kids present. I am very upset to say the least and will not be going back as long as the current owner is there! I would strongly advise anyone with a hearing impairment, or any sort of impairment NOT to go hear if they want to be made to feel horrid. And if you don’t want to be made out to be a liar DON’T come here! The atmosphere with other holiday goers was mixed, people extremely loud and some of which very rude, which they were obviously feeding of the staff and management. I’d like to add as well, the whole time we was sat playing, we were for whatever reason being watched from a member of staff; with daggers, when we did nothing wrong we did everything they asked of us yet they went out of their way to ensure we felt uncomfortable. Terrible way to end...
Read moreWe had a great time with upu during the day watching the rugby, so good we came back and played Bingo and listened to your live music in the evening. He has an amazing voice and would be grateful if you could put his details in reply so we can look at booking him in the future for an event.
