Old Manor Cafe — Restaurant in Great Yarmouth

Firstly the place needs a bloody good clean!! Menu holders, table, powdered chocolate pot for coffee, sauce pots, window cills etc all Extremely filthy! We avoided all these items. Dogs allowed so all the seats are absolutely covered in dog hair at every table. Cobwebs absolutely everywhere. Sausage and onion baguette with chopped up sausage is a bit weird as I'm a grown adult, and in a stale baguette didn't help. I don't know why it's chopped up into pieces either, never experienced that before even on a child's meal! Found a dog hair on the plate under my salad so too late to complain then. Nice coffee but someone in our group had a tea and the milk is separate.. Hair floating in the milk there too. Just bought a house in the area and will not...

We wanted to turn back around and leave the place before we even sat down! The whole cafe needs a DEEP clean and the toilet was absolutely disgusting, flush wasn’t working either as they had turned the water off for the flush????

Food was okay but nothing great, whole place (including us by the time we left) stunk of grease and oil and the food took forever to come as it was ‘all cooked fresh’ (fine that the owner explained the wait time but played down actually how long it would take and also, shouldn’t it all be cooked fresh anyway?!)

In utter shock at the 4+ star reviews on this place and would definitely never return!

Also, no one has mentioned the fact that their hygiene rating is a 1...

It seems my review is a little out of the ordinary as others seem to really enjoy this cafe. I unfortunately did not have too great of an experience. My hash browns had a very unusual chemical taste to them and the egg was a bit sloppy. My fathers cod had a VERY long hair in it which is obviously not too appealing. I can't fault the rest of the food, but those issues do lower the tone as a whole.

I would say it's quite possible I was unlucky, as the staff were very nice, and it's a cosy little environment. I hope I was a one-off...
