Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Guildford

I'm being generous giving them 2 stars due to the guy's communication customer service was good, but the other stuff I'd give zero stars for. It's not cheap at Costa and I've spent a lot of money in various Costa branches over the past few months, if they don't do your food right it's very inconvenient. Went in there at about half 3 in the afternoon yesterday and he specifically asked me what sauce I wanted for my bap (Ketchup or Brown) I said Ketchup please and he gives me nothing?? Even brown sauce would've been better than tasting nothing. Even worse, a lot of the bacon was completely burnt as in black. I didn't look at any of this until I was on the train so it was £3.25 of the £10 I'd spent wasted. Do I really have to check these basic things in future before I leave the shop? I thought my previous Costa experience the day earlier wasn't great but at least that time I got my food. This time I paid £3.25 for a small bit of bread!

The whole point of the purchase was because I had about 10 mins to buy some food for my long train journey. I hadn't eaten since the morning something really small as I was busy, then before I needed to take this long train journey back home I needed something big to eat as I hadn't eaten in so long and something to also last me until the next few hours later when I got another chance to eat. Hence buying a toastie and a drink as well but I was charged for a bap which was just bread so I had to just make do with 2 of the 3...

Terrible service, and really dirty. I ordered the Frostino (first time) as they had the poster up of the new Irish Velvet Range - on the poster the Frostino has chocolate sauce and whipped cream. What I got looked nothing like the picture. When I asked about it, he threw his hands up saying "I don't know, I didn't make it, I think we're out of whipped cream." Then he mockingly offered star shaped sprinkles. When I asked about the chocolate sauce, he said "I suppose I could put some around the rim if you like." At that point, I just wanted to leave, but I had time to kill waiting for my train. He offered a free drink and brought some tarts to my table - too little too late. I tried some of the Frostino, but it tasted like it was literally just ice and syrup. The service at this particular Costa has always been inconsistent, but this experience has been the most disappointing. Never going to any Costa Coffee...

The staff were running around like headless chickens when it wasn’t even that busy on the Saturday morning. I requested oat milk multiple times and when my drink came with cow milk and I asked them to redo it, it felt like I offended them by not being able to have dairy.
