What an incredible, yet somewhat accidental find! Pinnocks is the most wonderful little cafe in the heart of Ripley. I wanted only to find a quick cup of coffee but what I found was an exquisite beamed ceiling and slate tiled floor, lovely farmhouse tables, a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Beautiful foods, perfect for a light lunch. There’s the gentle hum of conversation, a fresh produce delivery brought through… and what I was offered was not just a cup of coffee…At risk of sounding like a line from Rowan Atkinson in Love Actually…. This is SO much more than a cup of coffee! There are 7 different beans to choose from depending on your ‘roast’ preference. I chose Ethiopian and received a mug… Normally I prefer a cup, (because I’m a fan of delicate drinking!) but this wasn’t a chunky hunk of china. It was plastic and yet it didn’t detract from the coffee taste at all. Absolutely delicious! I cannot think of a better place to escape from the rain and enjoy an hour or so…I might be coming back for tea…

I really wanted to give this lovely cafe a 5 but if they cant make a proper latte than sorry... Granted "latte" was not on the menu (which should have been warning enough) but we asked if they could make and they said, "Sure!" Dont order! Stick to the traditional brewed coffee which was very good and have a very delicious slice of one of their many daily, homemade cakes. There is outdoor, first floor, and second floor seating with an old rustic England/Ottoman feel. Very much worth a stop. They also are following COVID guidelines admirably.

In my opinion one of the most underrated places to get a coffee in Surrey. The head barista really knows his coffee and they have a great selection of cakes. I asked for an espresso but was told it would be more like an aeropress/drip style. I was happy with that as I have one at home. I was recommended strength 6 and have to say it was very tasty. For cake, I had the white chocolate, pistachio loaf which again, was very nice. Service was friendly, fast and informative. Can’t ask for much more. Highly recommend.

The last time we came here was during the pandemic when they were offering takeaway sandwiches. We really enjoyed our last experience, so it was long overdue we returned! We were a little let down with the bruch we had last week, though. When we arrived, we weren't greeted by staff at all, and we didn't know if it was a "find yourself a table situation" or what. The pastry counter let us down, too, so we ordered off the menu. The food was nice (especially the locally sourced bread), but it wasn't worthy of the price tag, in our opinion. Think we're going to stick to the lunch menu in the future. Again, not as much as a thank you from the staff when we left, even though we tried to get their attention. It won't put us off, but don't think we'll be returning for...

"A CUP ABOVE THE REST" Many boutique coffee houses are extremely passionate about their coffee, we found Pinnock's in Ripley have gone beyond passionate. They have a variety of different strength coffee beans to suit your taste, with unique flavours. They use a drip process, where the beans are ground freshly for each cup, then using their drip method ensures a smooth, lingering, wonderful cup of coffee. On display there are freshly made, salads, wraps, sandwiches, an indulgent array of cakes and hand made chocolates. We found having brunch with coffee was so relaxing, as we comfortable settled upstairs, in their large lounge area. All of us in the group, agreed this was well worth the drive for brunch and will visit this...
