King Du restaurant — Restaurant in Harlow

Was a little disappointed with my birthday meal at King du. Always been a fan and always go to 1 of their resteraunts but for whatever reason it feels like they have made some bad changes. You used to get free rice or noodles with your main which now they are charging almost £4 extra for. I asked prior to going to keep people's orders separate so each person could pay for themselves. But they didnt. And left me to try and figure it out? Which led to me paying £15 extra due to confusion. They did this as they like to charge you 10% extra on large groups for a service charge. They are passing plates to my guests and asking them to pass them to the correct people which is very unprofessional and are we not paying the service charge for service?

We likely will not be going back again or holding our work meals here anymore.

The food is nice but as mentioned poor service. Poor value with the menu changes.

Also to add a rather strange situation. My grandfather asked for a shandy. He was told they don't do that. He then said please could I have 1 beer and 1 lemonade and then they said no. Likely a misunderstanding but was a bit comical. He ended...

We have been to King Du numerous times over the years and also had food delivered. It is always superb! The portion sizes are huge and if you can't finish your meal, you can take it home in a doggy bag! The restaurant is always busy - a good sign - and sometimes you will have to wait, but it is worth it! The tables are close together - something other reviewers have criticised - but that doesn't bother us, we are there for the food, not to make friends! The food arrives at your table when it is ready, not starters then mains etc, and that makes it interesting in my opinion. The prices have gone up recently, but it is still very good value for money - my wife and I had dinner with drinks for less than £30 yesterday and we left absolutely full up! If you want good food at good prices, you can't do better...

I've been here many many times, and each time they surpass my expectations. The food is amazing, in both quality and quantity, and the service is fabulous. They give you a discount if you work for the NHS, if you show them your lanyard with yiur NHS identification and there are 4 or less people. I highly recommend this establishment to anybody who enjoys an authentic experience, with a pleasant atmosphere. I also believe they do takeaway if you're wanting their amazing food, but don't have the time to sit in the restaurant.
