Just had the most disturbing experience, arrived in pub at 13:20 on Saturday 25/05. Though my car is uncharged and I’m hungry so I can put my car on charger and eat and drink while it’s charging till 30%. So EV charging parking clearly says “only for charging EV vehicles “ but there are 2 cars blocking the charger parking on the place. So I’ve tried to park in between this two vehicles but with no success because there are rubbish bins on the way, I’ve moved one to be able to fit in but another one was just massive and too heavy to move. So I had to squeeze between another car which was on charger and unplugged vehicle but it was so tight that me (8 stones weight) couldn’t get out. Anyway, I used passenger seat to squeeze out of car and left car on charger and went to the pub to order some food and drink because I had an hour. When I’ve asked bar man about charging parking and why is there a two cars blocking them while half of the parking empty he replied that it’s a manager car and another employee car and they are parking there. I said that parking is for EV charging vehicles and he went rude and said : well it’s not, people paying money in our pub and they can park anywhere whey want. His attitude was very bad and I think he was a bit drunk because he didn’t ask if I need any help or I want to order anything, he just went on me!!!! So I will never comeback in this pub because stuff is rude...
Read moreWent on a busy Saturday night not knowing football was on. We chose to sit in the designated "quiet area" which wasn't quiet at all. Two TVs with volume high, men shouting and young children running around. We ordered food and drinks on the app and when nothing had arrived after 25 mins, I approached the bar and asked a man emptying the dishwasher if he could please confirm our order had been received. He rudely said they were busy and he had no idea. He told me I'd have to join the (large) queue to ask at the till. I did so and a young woman, who in my opinion could teach good customer service to her colleague, explained that the orders are taken straight to the kitchen but if I told her the order she would check. I gave the food order, but couldn't remember what drink my daughter had ordered so I returned to the table to find out. The woman came over to check and got our drinks for us. We waited 50 minutes for the food to arrive, which was delicious, but we again had to ask for our desserts. I have given 3 stars as the food was good and one female member of staff showed great customer service. Loss of 2 due to the rude male member of staff and the not "quiet area". Oh and there was also a scuffle at the bar, which the female member of staff dealt with, while male staff were...
Read moreMy family and I use this pub for the popular Thursday night quiz. Beforehand we'll often have a bite to eat, but I'm afraid we won't be eating there again because of slipping hygiene standards. A fortnight ago I found a hair in my hunters chicken but this was easily surpassed for sheer yuckiness when my son found a false eyelash underneath his cheesy garlic bread last night (see attached picture)!
Also since the recent menu change the burgers which used to be really tasty are now routinely overcooked and have the texture of cardboard. Looks like Greene King have changed their supplier or something is going wrong in the kitchen?
The Gents toilet is a disgrace and has been leaking urine into a make-shift collection bucket for months (see attached picture). This is really not acceptable in 2018.
If you just want to have a pint and watch football the pub is fine. This is such a shame because it has been much better in the...
