Hi
If anyone is thinking about maybe attending The Dog And Partridge Pub In Yatley, There's a few things i would consider before making your mind up.
If it's a good time your after, Please look Elsewhere.
If you do decide for whatever reason to attend. Please make sure you PRE book your taxi or you will be kicked outside (in our case in THICK SNOW) and will not be allowed in the door way whilst waiting for your taxi.
Please do not make any noise in there. The bar maid is very strict on this and would be very likely to tell you to keep quiet and not have a good time.
If you need anymore reasons then you haven't tried any other pub in England. The hospitality in this pub is horrendous!
Me & my other half attended this pub on the 17th of March 2018. We brought out 3 friends who had travelled from a fair distance to be with us. And after 2 YES 2 drinks we were told we were being to loud and to quiet the night down. As it was snowing outside and there wasn't to many places in Yately to go we decided to order a further pint. HOWEVER. After we had finished this pint with no pre warning or any hesitation we was asked to leave very rudely. To which in a kind manor I replied (my Girlfriend is 5 months pregnant is there any chance we could just Stay here until we find a cab company that will pick us up? To which the answer was NO!!!!! "You must leave now and I'm not bothered if it's snowing and I do not care if your girlfriend is pregnant!!"
This experience is 1 we would rather forget. We are all in the age of 30+ mixed between pregnant girls and soon to be dad's and already mum's and dads. We are not children or teenagers who are in a certain place to cause trouble.
Anyways if you still attend this pub after reading this review then I guess you actually desperate for a beer and this is 1 situation o cannot help you put of.

Read moreThe team have done a great job with the new canopy and garden, and the pub still has a good atmosphere. But there's real room for improvement if they want to keep up with other pubs in the area.
The beer selection is limited if you want anything modern... there's nothing on tap or in the fridge in the way of craft beer, Tribute is about as adventurous as it gets. There are so many amazing local craft breweries, it would be amazing if they could support one somehow. The wine selection is also pretty limited and could really benefit from 1 or 2 more types of red & white. No complaint on the gin selection by the way!
The food, which used to be such an asset, is shrinking portion and quality, whilst getting more expensive (despite the temporary VAT cut). The nachos, at nearly £12, are maybe the worst example of this. It's a relatively small plate, with tiny dip portions and a small scattering of jalapenos - Probably £4.95 worth anywhere else. If you want to add a dollop of chili con carne, be prepared to pay nearly £18 in total!!! Doughballs aside, we think the starters are all deep fried too :(
Hopefully the team can take these observations on board and come out of the pandemic stronger than ever before. All us locals really want to...

Visited 16 April 2021 great outdoor space which has an area covered by a big awning/teepee roof. This area has good heating. The outside space has had a revamp to get ready for post lockdown dining. Food delicious as always & the steak & ale pie was full of meat & really tasty. Also now hosting a regular cribbage night on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month. A true community pub. Always new & exciting events the bingo & prosecco nights are popular. Lots of new tables & brollies on the Green out the front, great for catching the...
