Excellent, excellent, excellent food! I had the Gamberoni starter with the garlic sauce and it was incredible, not a trace of the sauce was left as I scooped it up with the equally delicious bread - which I was told by my server is homemade. My partner had the mussels in a chili sauce which he completely finished. For my main I had the fillet steak which was also delicious. I chose to have it with the creamy mushroom sauce which was delicious but, as they have other options for sauces I look forward to trying those too. My partner had a four cheese pizza which he really enjoyed. The pizza not only tasted amazing but also looked lovely as it was nice round shape. We had a glass of prosecco each with out starters which were lovely and then had a delicious bottle of Barolo with our mains - delicious. We couldn't squeeze in a dessert each so we shared the coconut tiramisu, it was unfamiliar but a lovely spin on a classic Italian dessert. To top off the evening we were even offered a shot of Limoncello with our bill. The service was attentive but not intrusive, the servers were quick and able, clearly having experience and we felt very welcomed. Will be...
Read moreOn our way back from a trip outside London, we stopped by as we were nearby—I really wanted to see the lovely team at the shop again!
Since we didn’t have much time, I ordered the tiramisu this time. It was beautifully balanced—not too sweet, with a refined and elegant taste. Despite being more generous in size than it looks, it was incredibly light, and I found myself finishing every last bite without even realizing it. The richness that gently spreads in your mouth, combined with the clean aftertaste, was simply perfect—I could’ve easily gone for a second serving!
My kids loved it too, and we happily shared it together.
At another table, I overheard a lovely moment where a customer was asking a staff member's name—it was clear how connected the team is to their guests. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, with many regulars from the local area. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, no matter...
Read moreDined here with a party of 7 including 3 kids. Kids dough ball starters were a good size, and their mains looked ample and tasted good. Kids mains were advertised as penne pasta, but we actually spaghetti, which is harder for them to eat without making a mess. Adult starters were good, liked the arancini although it was delayed because the first one broke apart in the fat frier apparently.
It took a long time for the adult mains to come. So long that the kids had long finished eating theirs. When they came my lasagne was cremated (see pic). An attempt had been made to hide it with a dollop of fresh marinara sauce on top. As we’d waited so long, I pressed on with it but had to leave quite a bit and it lacked flavour and was chewy due to being overcooked. The other diners meals seemed fine.
In fairness they took the lasagne off the bill, but I think the chef wasn’t having a great day.
Was reasonably busy for a...
