The Rye Bakery — Restaurant in Hastings

Well today I go and get some toasted sandwiches and decide to eat in with my friend, one person on the counter and he had put them on and said I'll bring them over, then could smell it burning while he was sweeping the floor he then went and check on them he discovered the toasted sandwiches were BURN'T and he thought it was ok to spend 5 minutes scrapping the charred bits off as we heard and watched him do this and then proceeded to put them on a plate making sure he placed the burn't side down on the plate hoping we hadn't noticed so needless to say I won't be going there again for a while. Their staff need to learn that's it's unacceptable to serve food you've had to scrape charred bits off just to be able to serve it to a customer, I requested my money back as...

This venue is super Clean👍 The staff are all super Friendly & polite👌. The food is amazing and all fresh baked🎂🍰🍕🥞. The bread is very reasonable and also freshly baked in a good variety of traditional shapes and types🍞🥐🥖 The Coffee bean they use is not bitter or too strong for a very nice latte or Americano, which adds up to Very nice coffee ☕🍵and service with a smile😁. Had to return my chivken and ham slice as I couldn't cut it. It was replaced but the replacement steak slice was not very good,only eat it because I was hungry.We aldo bought a couple of cakes to take away, a doughnut which was good abd a belgiun bun which was so stale I had to throw it out!
