A wonderful find nestled in the busy bohemian area of St Leonards. What a treat! I ventured up to St Leonards with an old friend and we were pleased to discover this quaint little coffee shop. Sat outdoors in the mild April warmth, we were served a wonderfully strong black coffee, as black as plimsolls and my friend, Ratchel had a luscious looking espresso banana smoothie. Watch out for the pumpkin seeds I would add, but these aside it looked great. I had a sausage roll which was served warm with a tangy tomato salsa, not something I expected however it was a pleasant surprise. The pastry was flakey and light and the sausage was as I like it, meaty with a firm bite. Next up were out bagels. Layers of salty prosciutto tucked in to the soft chewy warm bagel with peppery rocket, sun dried tomatoes which gave an occasional pop of sharp intensity and a thick sugary twang of balsamic glaze. Delightful! The staff were very friendly and I was more than impressed by this dainty little place. Check this establishment out, brilliant!

This is a beautiful cafe in St Leonard’s... the decor of the cafe is really cute and tasteful, especially the garden area which is a lovely space to enjoy coffee/or lunch. There were some really delightful sounding salads on the menu. We opted for bagels which were delicious. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and showed such a genuine interest in us. Nothing was any trouble and the atmosphere was really chilled and relaxed. The indoor areas have screens up between tables to comply with covid, and marks on floor to keep distance when queuing. There is a toilet available on premises too. All in all, a really delightful little cafe that is well worth a visit.

Wasn't feeling great after a visit to the hospital so treated myself to lunch and a coffee. Had The Garden Party open toast with a soft boiled egg and it was the tastiest thing I've had in a long time - the flavours worked perfectly, as well as the contrast of textures. It was also a work of art! The flat white was also spot on. I was sadly too late to sample a pastry so I'll just have to go back!

I'd honestly never heard of Fika@44, even though I'd been passed several times in the car, either driving or on lessons.

A friend suggested meeting up here on Dec 14th for a coffee and chat, and I must say it was a good choice.

It was a wet and miserable day outside, but the atmosphere, as soon as I walked in through the door, was warm and welcoming.

I went through the front section and out to the covered garden area at the rear. It was lovely, bright, and spotless out here, and each of the chairs had a neatly folded rug draped over their back's for those who may feel the chill on a cold day. A lovely touch helping to make you, the customer, feel wanted.

Our cappuccinos were brought out to us with a beautiful, friendly smile, and nothing appeared to be too much trouble for the staff.

I'm more than happy to recommend Fika@44 and will certainly pop in for another cappuccino again.

Cheers, and I hope this helps others looking for somewhere nice to have a coffee and a chat. Their food looked delicious too, and I may be tempted on my next...

I am sorry to say we did not feel comfortable or welcome . No one was behind the counter when we first went in We were hungry and admittedly it was past lunchtime maybe 3pm We had a salad, and it was bland dry and flavourless maybe it had been dressed but not enough basically one salad was blitzed cauliflower carrot and broccoli.. the other was red cabbage apple and pomegranate seed no discernable herbs or seasoning in either .. they could have benefitted from anything like coriander..parsley lemon juice . A proper dressing salt and pepper when I asked for a bit of dressing or olive oil ..politely. I was greeted with it's already been dressed ' but I could have a dollop of hummus .. I persevered and got the oil and salt and pepper which improved it a bit we felt like we were being difficult for even asking .I understand it had probably been a busy Saturday and people were tired but there were no smiles and no good grace I used to live Fika ..sadly it is not the same food wise needs more...
