Having spent the day in Hastings Old Town with friends a member of our group recommended we get a taxi to The St Leonards public house. Upon arrival, we met some more friends and ordered some drinks from the bar. I stood at the bar minding my own business when a member of staff took the drink from my hand and walked off in a strop refusing to recognize my attempt to enquire what I had done. It wasn’t until I managed to get the attention of another member of staff that I had found out that a member of our party (funnily enough the same friend who recommended the public house) had upset staff through her boisterous behavior and subsequently we were refused service. I fully appreciate that it’s the staff right to refuse service but the manner in which this was handed was deplorable. Having lived in Hastings for 40+ years, owned our own public house and restaurant as well as visited the majority of others in the area, I have never been treated in this manner before. Read moreNot standard pub food - just pizza but excellent from St Leonards best pizzeria. I love the art in the Len (St Leonards is a haven for very creative people). It changes regularly so if you don't like current exhibition keep coming back till you do. Obviously the atmosphere changes from the packed event nights (fun pub quiz once a month, specials such as Fat Tuesday), thronging weekends to quiet weekdays when it's good for going to chat to friends.

After notifying the landlords of this, they completely ignored me....I had already booked a table for 8 people on a dinner evening, which I have cancelled and caused inconvenience to my friends due the arrogance and lack of compassion. Humiliated!
