So a freezing cold day in early January, and my car is going for a service and mot. Will take at least a couple of hours i'm told... I dont know the area but thought I would walk and see what I came across. After around 10 minutes, I could smell roasted coffee, and in the distance I could see the costa logo. Warmth woohoo! In I head, to be greated by a very friendly female member of staff, who enquired about my day - I explained why I was in the area, she told me not to rush which I thought was really nice. I have my medium special blend cappucino with a shot of caramel - lovely - and a toasted sausage bap also really nice. I sat on a comfy chair, I used the free wifi, and read The Times (how civilised). I spent about 1.5 hours there and for £6 I thought it was a bargain really. Whilst there I watched the two female members of staff, and I was impressed at the dedication they showed to their roles, talking about what they needed to do next, always making the time to say hello and show interest in their customers. Ultimately, its not just a good cup of coffee that makes a venue, it is also the overall enviroment and I would recommend based on my...
Read moreHaving been astonished by a lack of service and cleanliness at Whiteley outlet Costa just a few days ago it was so refreshing to see a completely different mentality here when I visited this morning.
With just two members of staff working (one senior member, one junior member) they were so professional and organised, they dealt with a constant stream of customers between 09:00 and 09:30 without any real problems. I had popped in to order 9 coffees to take into work. I felt a bit guilty as there were only two staff on but hey ho, we all need Costa! The rest of the queue was held up a bit but I think they could appreciate how hard the two staff members were working.
I really can't understand why they don't have a second coffee machine running though as the lady making the coffee was so rapid she would definitely benefit at peak times.
Overall the difference was that just two staff members were working quicker and smarter here than 5 staff members at Whiteley...
Read moreA spacious café with lots of comfortable seating and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff are lovely, the food and drinks are of excellent quality and fairly priced. There's free paring just round the corner, and it's based on London Road whilst next to Lidl, so ideally situated.
However, during my last visit, I found circumstances a little different. The chocolate twist was poor quality, and the Chai Latte was lacking in flavour. The service was impeccable as always, and the atmosphere was pleasant, but the food and coffee were a letdown on this particular occasion. Much like anywhere, your views can change in a day.
After another visit, the Chai Latte was back up to standard, and again, the service was perfect. It really depends on the batista on the...
