Awful first AND LAST experience at Par3 café. Walked into the restaurant where only 5 or 6 tables were occupied ... to be told the other tables were reserved and we would have to sit outside. Outside the weather kept changing (typical British weather) the kids were complaining they were cold. We ordered pizzas as they were reasonably priced and came with a variety of toppings. When the food arrived we were shocked to see what they had served us. The bases were premade flat breads with a slather of pasta sauce from a jar topped with a mountain of cheese that wasnt even fully melted. We asked the waitress if they could cook it in the oven for a bit longer to brown the cheese. She came back with 5 minutes with the pizzas looking the same just slightly hotter. I think the pizzas were cooked in the microwave rather than an oven as it was just a thick layer of melted cheese on top of a soggy flatbread. The kids were starving so we let them have the outer part of the pizza and took off most the cheese. I myself felt sick from seeing all that cheese, i couldn't eat it. We asked for the bill and the waitress asked how it was... we told her that this wasn't pizza and how badly it was cooked, she agreed and said they have been busy so the chefs were rushing.... why serve it to us then?! On leaving the restaurant from the outside we looked back inside to see the restaurant still at 15-20% capacity so we could have sat inside with the other customers the whole time. This restaurant is being run by untrained staff who just do not use their initiative. What a waste of my time and money in this so called restaurant located in a...
Read moreUnder new management this bar-restaurant is likely to thrive. With its club like atmosphere & being set away from main roads and overlooking woodland we have enjoyed snacks, drinks and main courses. Whilst they serve plenty of classic dishes they excel when they offer their Sri Lankan Lamprais, a House Special. This dish is offered with the choice of lamb or chicken and varying degrees of spice to suit the pallet. The combination of flavours and textures is quite excellent.
In the summer months we dine outside on their terrace.
The entire experience is enhanced by the young lady who served us who radiated warmth and personality and managed to serve us efficiently whilst making us feel completely at home.
The other good news is this family run restaurant is normally from 10am to 10pm...
Read moreMy wife and I booked Par 3 for our son’s 18th birthday party, and also a table for ten people in the adjacent restaurant whilst the party was going on. Cindy and the team were simply excellent, nothing was too much for them, and I can highly recommend them for both a venue to hold a celebration, and as a restaurant to visit for a meal. The buffet they put on for the party was excellent, and their DJ had the party jumping from start to finish! The food we had in the restaurant was very good, (the devilled chicken starter and the Thai green curry main being my personal favourite), coupled with super friendly service, and very reasonable charges for the entire package. A real hidden gem, thank you to everyone at Par 3 for everything you did to make our son’s birthday a memorable and enjoyable...
