Regency Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Hertsmere

We have been visiting this restaurant for many years and have to say we are very saddened to say that our last experience there last night was awful. Please don't get me wrong the staff are very attentive, friendly and make the whole evening enjoyable....BUT..... we go there to eat and this is about horribly wrong last night. My first question is has there been a change in chefs? We are creatures of habit and usually eat the same food every time we go with a few exceptions ;-) The seaweed was like grated pieces of plastic, absolutely no taste whatsoever when we mentioned to to the waiter he was very good, took it away and replaced it with a larger portion for us... unfortunately this tasted disgusting its as if it had chemicals in it, it was awful (one fork full was enough to taste it) Is salted squid was heavily coated in batter which was tasteless. The egg fried rice served was just a bowl of of what the Thai people would call sticky rice... It was Gods stuck together tasteless not much chicken one spoonful and that was enough!!! Please, Regency if you read this what has gone wrong.... offering to take money off our bill for items we are not happy with is good customer service ...but we don't want that, we just want to come and enjoy the whole evening...

Went in for a Chinese came out with a pneumonia! Was sat at a table under the air conditioning which was so cold wasn’t sure if we were actually in the car park or not… My hands turning purple and friend putting her coat on weren’t enough of a hint, had to ask for it to be switched off before they turned us into ice cubes and served us up with a glass of coke. Food was bland, nothing special, ordered ‘Ho Fun noodles’ they were absolutely NO FUN whatsoever. Think the waitress must of thought I had asked for a plate of ginger and the noodles/beef on the side?!!? Waitress was rude and in such a hurry not sure if she was on speed +- adhd. Final nail in the coffin - Was sitting minding my own business holding my fork, chewing my no fun noodles and she took my plate away from under my nose! Swiped it clean away!…..from this point on guarded all food and drink so she wouldn’t try to take them away! Need the loo but was scared to go to the toilet incase she ran in after me tried to wipe my a*se for me to get me out of there any quicker. Asked for the salt and got given a fork. Won’t be going back,...

I would rate this place higher but their customer service is absolutely terrible. Their food is delicious which pains me to have to rate this restaurant so low, but the delivery man delivering the takeaways is so rude and genuinely has potentially turned me off of this establishment. This is not the first time he has been rude upon delivery which is a shame because I really was trying to see past it. It has gotten to the point where I can’t excuse his anger each time he delivers my food whether it be because a) he did not knock and so we didn’t know he were standing outside, b) he could not find our flat which is not my fault or a reason to yell at us upon delivery, or c) whatever reason has brought his poor attitude today. The fact that he has no problem raising his voice at us, placing blame on us and genuinely making us feel bad thus us having to profusely apologise, is not okay. Until this is rectified, I won’t be ordering from this establishment anymore and will be warning my friends as I wouldn’t want anyone feeling how...
