Wood Oven BBQ POTTERS BAR — Restaurant in Hertsmere

Never been here before. First the prices on their website are not the same as the ones we saw on their restaurant menu. They claim this to be a takeaway menu on their website, checked on Just eat different prices there too. You will never know what you will get charged for in this place. We asked for the outside area which was more like a run-down shed with fake flowers and a very weird atmosphere at that point why even have an outside area.

The food was bland and quite expensive for what you get. My ribeye steak although it was cooked perfectly and the size was good it had no seasoning whatsoever which made it taste boring. The peppercorn sauce was more like a peppery gravy with a weird consistency and taste. My husband had the sautéed prawns which were overcooked, the side of rice and salad are very small for that dish.

What I found really odd was that half of the ingredients were not even mentioned on the menu. My steak came with fries instead of chips (the menu mentions chips) and a weird combination of sautéed red pepper, green pepper, onion, and mushroom which wasn’t complimenting the dish and one touched. My concern is that if someone has an intolerance or allergy in any of these they should know that the dish comes with them before ordering. Same issue with my husband’s prawns it came with things that were nowhere to be seen on that menu including mushrooms, chunks of inions and peppers.

We left disappointed and there’s nothing worse than spending money in bad food...

As a loyal customer, the sudden £18 charge for the once-complimentary Turkish tea caught us off guard when we received the bill. There were no notices or indications on the menu about this shift, making the lack of communication frustrating. Additionally, the absence of complimentary baklava, which we looked forward to, added to our disappointment, especially as we came to celebrate my mum's birthday today.

Less than a month ago, we enjoyed our tea without charges, only to learn they started implementing this two months ago. This lack of clarity diminishes the trust we've built as long-time customers. Clear communication about policy changes is essential, and it's disheartening to see this overlooked. Unfortunately, due to these recent experiences, we won't be returning. We hope the management considers transparent communication to maintain trust with loyal...

Just ordered a take out, totally disappointed with the food. Chicken shish kebabs was completely dry, almost like they had dipped chicken in to the marinate sauce and on to the grill hence very dry and tasteless meat. Red chilli and yogurt sauce were not enough for 4 pieces of bread Garlic mashroom were once dry without garlic sauce that normally comes with this dish. Called to complain about it they were not willing to listen to it. Infact he was not even apologetic.

Will not be ordering or going in to the resturant again. Something else to bring to everyones notice.. they have increased their prices drastically recently. My shish kebabs was £17.50 for the dish.. so expensive..for a take out when you have such bad tasteless food. Really disappointed!!
