This was one hell of a horrific experience. Do not attend this restaurant. I have never written a review on a restaurant until this awful experience. The very short waiter, Lou, was probably the rudest little man I’ve ever seen in my life. Clearly has a chip on his shoulder. Speaking of chips, this restaurant didn’t deliver the chips to the table until 30 minutes after our food was sitting on the plate waiting to be eaten. When I spoke to the little man Lou about this, he said something which was unrecognisable to most people that speak English, I said pardon, to which he turned to my ‘eight-year-old and said what’s going on with your dad? Has he been drinking or something?’ She ended up crying because she has never been spoken to like that before. The food was diabolical, when ordering chicken and lamb on skewers from the sort of places the meat normally is lovely in this place it is the worst Cutts of meat you’re ever eat. But the food was the least of the issues. These are the rudest staff members I’ve ever come across. We were virtually accused of lying when we were pointing out that the chips still haven’t arrived on the table for four of our guests. When constantly shouted at being told the chips have come it was only when I realised that I should be making the point of saying what did we do? Then eat the bowls as well? To which the waiter stormed off and brought three bowls of chips instead of four and we just couldn’t be bothered to argue about that. Finished up eating I went to get the bill to pay for the family. To which the very little man Lou who makes up for a short size in a loud voice just looked at me waiting for me to mention what sort of tip to put on the bill.. which was the final straw. Absolutely delusional. Shall not be going again and will be spreading the word to warn people to stay away from...
Read moreMe and my frend was in your restaurant for the first time 12,12,2024.iv been looking for a good Greek restaurant for a while now and must say your the best one iv tryed so far this year. Your lamb sovla was great, karamari was how it should be with flower not batter. Your hallumy and bastarma was great but I did expect that. I think you need to improve your chips as they are freshly cooked, your salad needs a bit much imagination and your Tbone steak need to be cook faster higher heat so you can have it a least med not well done so it's more tender. And I know you give a little fruit on a plate at the end you need a bit more imagination so it looks better. Apart from that it was great these little things I'm talking about makes a difference and I hope you make or look at improving so you can be one of the best places to eat. If you need eny help I be happy to advice or even come in and demonstrate how to improve. But I hope to visit again and try other dishes. Mr Olgun hilmi

Read moreI was surprised at how good this place was. Quite often I find Greek restaurants, even if they are good, can be a bit too expensive for what they provide. Not the case here. The food was excellent. Our group had meze (lots of small portions covering a wide range of Greek/Cypriot food rather like a Greek dim sum) and everything was delicious. One of our party was allergic to garlic so they brought us the relevant dishes in both normal and garlic-free versions, too. The atmosphere was great. Several birthdays in the house and every table joined in the singing. The service was ridiculously friendly and when the bill came I was surprised. It was under £48 a head, inclusive of the tip. Ok, only a couple of people had alcohol but we got through plenty of soft drinks and also took home a heavily loaded bag of uneaten food. There was way too much of it to finish. I would definitely recommend Tavernaki and will be going again as soon as I...
