This Easter Sunday 20-4-25 we walked into Shepleys and asked if could purchase the last piece of Raspberry Bakewell (As it it looked lonely)...The answer from gentleman was yes!...upon paying for this price of isolated cake....I was then informed someone else outside had ordered a piece of the same cake, to my astonished gaze the young lady cut the lonely piece in half and asked which half I wanted..."Well, all of it I replied"...but greed and business acumin took over and I was left with half of the very lonely morsel. This was not a loss of a vital organ, but the emotional damage cut deep. Read moreI went to Shepley's for the first time last Friday and what a treat it was! The pretty, cosy and thoughtfully decorated interior was lovely and my sister and I were served by a very helpful and efficient young lady. We had cheese scones and pickle with a selection of salads which arrived quickly and were delicious. Couldn't resist buying a piece of Bakewell sponge cake to have at home for tea which was equally delicious. What friendly staff and a supper chef. Thank you all.
