Dukes Glossop — Restaurant in High Peak

Went in for lunch myself and my wife few months ago forget exactly when. the cafe looked nice inside the girls serving were nice we found the menus hard to read though , they were on the wall on boards over the far end of someone else's table which meant I had to stand looking over them. Would have been more comfortable if there had been menus for each table. When I enquired about the coffee the young man whom I think might have been the chef?? Not sure, who was serving as well treated us like we were a nuisance and gave us a really wiery response (great customer service) when the food arrived the ( timely) my dish was smothered with coriander ( which I do not like ) when I mentioned this the same man said with complete arrogance and rudeness that I should have asked when ordering in short the food ( minus the coriander when picked off ) was nice coffee nice girls nice I would not though sadly be going back there because of the arrogant tiresome customer service from the chef/...

I have to totally disagree with the previous review. It was my first visit to dukes today with my friend. The coffee was probably the best we have tasted in Glossop, not bitter at all and a lovely strong coffee. If only the previous reviewer had spoken to the owner, I'm sure they would have been very accommodating. We had an Americano and when I enquired about a flat top coffee, the owner kindly let us sample one free of charge, again this was lovely and better than some of the chains of coffee shops. I can say this with confidence as I visited many coffee shops.

The ambience was superb and staff very friendly and welcoming....

I have to also disagree with the previous negative review. I am a huge lover of coffee and have tried many cups from different coffee shops/tea rooms. We finally visited Jukes yesterday, the owner spent time speaking to us about the coffee they use etc, it was absolutely gorgeous. The best cup of coffee we have tasted, very smooth! The food was also really tasty, will definately be back for take aways too. If you haven't already been, it's a must! A relaxing place for lunch and games to keep the children...
