Thought we would try the Bangla over the Simla in Hinckley. Placed an order online to collect and once home, we got all the food out only to see that the butter chicken was missing. I called the restaurant to explain this only to be passed to three different people and then I was told several times that I had not ordered the butter chicken which I explained I had and I had the email to prove it. I was then told again I did not order it. Well here you go, I’ve attached my order here. My elderly father went without a meal thanks to you guys. Will never order from you again and will return to the Simla, at least you get what you paid for there! Just read your reply Bangla Pride. Even though I have shown proof of payment and what I ordered, you still continue to deny that I ordered this meal. This says everything about the Bangla Pride.

Update: we have used Bangla Pride many times before but this time was completely different, we dined in last night, we were just a table of 2 and we sat next to a light that just kept switching on and off repeatedly, we asked to move and they obliged. A table of 12 people walked in, and they rushed to move tables and chairs to accommodate them. They forgot our drinks, so we had to ask again for them 20 minutes later because every staff member was serving these 12 people. Food was delicious, but we had to sit and wait for half an hour or for the bill after asking for it. I ended up going to the bar, and they gave me the bill with a drink I didn't order on it. We won't be returning in a hurry.

The customer service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere and maintains a high standard of cleanliness. However, the flavors are distinctly tailored to European preferences, which means it lacks the comforting familiarity of South Asian home cooking. While it’s an ideal choice for European diners, those seeking an authentic taste of home may find it less representative of traditional South Asian flavors.

Wish we had read reviews before visiting. Decided to go for an early curry. Greeted warmly and guided to a table quickly. Drinks order was taken promptly and so far so good. We ordered poppadoms, chicken pakora, vegetable sagwala, chicken byriani and naan. My husbands pakora was dry and tasteless but we didn't think too much on it - the mains arrived - presented very well, portion sizes were very generous, and the first few mouthfuls tasted OK as we were hungry but... both dishes were actually pretty tasteless, in fact my husbands byriani sauce was just sweet tomato and my sagwala was mush, the only recognisable veg in it was diced carrot and sweetcorn which appeared to be from a supermarket frozen bag. It was also a little burnt, like it had caught in the pan, been scraped off and then stirred back in. The naan was very nice, but maybe the chef should stick to baking rather than cooking. We only went here because our usual favourite Millennium Balti is closed on Tuesday, but the food wasn't a patch on MB and we won't be returning. The staff were very attentive, if a little too attentive. My husband was questioned as to why he didn't eat all of his byriani, and told them it was very dry, not enough sauce provided and the portion size could have fed 3. We were offered complimentary brandy, but we declined and left feeling underwhelmed after spending £40 on a way below standard meal. Also this restaurant only has a 3 star hygiene rating, which we found out after, conveniently not displayed in the restaurant, which also meant we lost sleep worrying whether we'd be woken by stomach cramps or worse....

Used to think this was the best Indian restaurant in Hinckley but after my last 3 visits including tonight I will be taking my custom elsewhere. The meals on the 2 previous visits were poor to say the least although we were compensated with free wine, and the promise that we would get what we were actually promised from the wine list , tonight upon arrival asking for the wine we were promised we were informed that the wine was no longer available, even though I had been assured the night before that it would be available and that I would not be charged for it as recompense for the previous 2 ill fated visits. When I asked to see Tim, the waiter informed me and my wife that Tim was down the cellar sorting it, this was a lie as Tim was in the kitchen sorting out takeaways and customer orders. the food served was of a reasonable standard but the service was dreadful we were left waiting for nearly 20 minutes after requesting the bill, we still have not received the wine that we requested and that was put on the new wine menu which they now no longer serve. All in all a very poor service record over our last 3 visits, I am all for giving somewhere the benefit of the doubt but this is no beyond a joke. Tim if you are reading this then I am sorry I have had to go to these lengths but poor service and poor customer service get...

We very much enjoyed tonight’s experience amongst a favourable atmosphere at Bangla pride, the food was 10/10 as always, from the Poppadoms to the Dessert.

The flavour in their dishes are delicious and the restaurant is one to try! Even a more simpler dish on the menu such as Chicken Tikka Masala is made so well - silky, moreish and full of succulent chunks of meat. Especially a main dish that was recommended to myself to try tonight by the very welcoming and attentive staff (we also found we could have a laugh with) - that being the ‘Lamb Chop Shashlik’ was exquisite, tender and juicy chops packed with taste! Accompanied by a jalfrezi sauce, which I will definitely have again next time we dine there! Thankyou for having the two of us, a real belter of a Tuesday night bit of Bangladeshi Indian cuisine from start to...
