We went to Gin School at The Bond Street Distillery today. It was beautifully organised from start to finish. Mike served our drinks, chatted about the building and brought us a delicious afternoon tea (sandwiches, quiche, scones and a delightful selection of cakes). The gin menu explains the key features of each drink and suggests perfect mixer and garnish pairings. Over the afternoon we tried the whole range between us and purchased a bottle of the signature gin at the end of the experience.

The Gin School itself was beautifully organised and included an explanation of the process and introduction to Claire, the still. We were then taken up to the school room where we explored the botanicals and started to create our recipe; throughout this process Sally and Damion were on hand to advise, assist and suggest quantities and combinations to ensure that our ideas were successful.

The distilling process was explained really well and whilst we waited for the temperature to rise Damion gave us a tour of the building. This in itself was an absolute treat with quirky details everywhere and a true sense of the building’s history having been preserved at every turn. We then tasted our gin as it came out of the condenser noticing how the flavour changed. Sally then showed us how to test the alcoholic volume and blend water to create a drinkable delicious gin.

We then enjoyed a glass of our own g&t whilst writing our labels before Sally sealed the bottle.

Between the warm, knowledgeable staff; the massive choice of botanicals to personalise our gin and the steady flow of BSD g&ts we had a wonderful afternoon and certainly will be recommending this experience to...

We had a fabulous experience here yesterday - afternoon tea followed by Gin School, given to us as a gift by our son and girlfriend for Christmas.

Venue is absolutely great, much thought has obviously been given to creating a modern, yet sustainability friendly place to go! The preservation of local, historical features is wonderful as is the local (and gin) knowledge of all the staff we encountered. For information, we are Leicestershire nearby residents.

The Gin School experience is an absolute thrill - having to face a wall of ‘botanics’ and having the opportunity to sample their fragrances and then trying to decide on which few, of the many, you want to put in YOUR gin!

Being a part of the process from start to finish is wonderful - our finished product is a triumph - savoury style gin!

The afternoon tea was delicious and impressive (and large) luckily we were able to make use of the ‘take home box’. Thanks for that.

All in all, could not rate the experience too highly - we had a lovely time, enjoyed with our new ‘creative’ friends Rebecca and Chris.

Thank you and congratulations to all the staff for their very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable service. Well done to everyone and thanks so...

Myself and 5 family had afternoon tea and attended the gin school yesterday, what a brilliant afternoon! Stuart immediately made us feel welcome and relaxed! We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea along with some of the distillery gins (my fave is Passionfruit) & cocktails. Our hosts for the gin school, Damion and Sally were brilliant; relaxed, funny & very knowledgable. They have lovingly & sympathetically restored the building - the attention to detail is beautiful. Gin school itself was great, I had done one elsewhere before and this one was better…much more relaxed and informal - Sally really knows her stuff and helps you at every stage. The 6 of us were there from 2-6pm and it flew by, we wished we could have stayed on after the school but we had to get back home. We will definitely return for other events or just to enjoy that...

This was such a nice experience. Our host Lucy was very knowledgeable and was great at explaining the gin making prices. Been introduced to Claire, the main star of the distillery, that does all the hard work to provide one of the best gins I've had. Very nice atmosphere and good fun. Have tried some great gin combinations that also prompted to buy a few bottles. Maya, our trainee host, did a great job at providing a great experience. I must say the gin recipe created ended up tasting great. If you want a great experience, quality gin and good fun, then this is the place to go. Glad to have made the journey from Wales. Definitely recommend!

What can I say an gincredible experience from start to finish. We where greated by Stuart who got us our gins straight off the bat, with a good sense of humour. Lucy hosted the tour of the distillery and gin school and made this a fun and enjoyable time. With plenty of laughs, mixing and creating and Lucy giving us a good ginwag. Once we had bottled our gins, we followed with afternoon tea, which was a fabulous way to end are time with bond street distillery.
