UPDATE! A Remarkable Dining Experience at The Flying Horse!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Flying Horse, the newly relocated Indian restaurant, and I must say, it’s a true gem that’s definitely worth checking out! From the moment we walked into the bar area the ambiance was warm, welcoming, and full of character. The modern décor beautifully blends with traditional Indian elements, creating an inviting and cosy atmosphere.
Now, let’s talk about the food. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious—each bursting with vibrant flavours and expertly balanced spices. The menu offers a wonderful variety of options, catering to all tastes, whether you're a fan of rich, creamy curries or prefer something lighter and more aromatic. The North Indian Garlic chicken was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the Lamb Bhuna was cooked to perfection, The naan was incredibly fluffy and perfect for mopping up the delicious sauces.
Service was top-notch as well. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care about making our experience memorable. Islam the owner & his team were happy to provide recommendations and made sure we felt right at home.
Whether you’re a long-time fan of Indian cuisine or new to it, The Flying Horse is a must-visit. With its excellent food, great atmosphere, and exceptional service, this restaurant has been my favourite for many years now. I can’t...
Read moreThe food was very bland one of the mains out of 4 was ok and the starter was average. The amount of attention is high around your table they want you in and out and empty dishes and collect plates very quickly. On being asked if we were enjoying the food, we were honest and explained that the food tasted very flavourless and bland, with a lack of spices. The response we received was shocking, the manager advised us since they had now 'moved to Coalville we have to cater to the white people of Coalville and make white peoples curries, if you want a proper curry you need to go closer to Leicester'. Obviously we were not happy with this response and found it a little rude. We also had an issue with an order they sent out which we didn't order, when advising them it was incorrect, they were very abrupt and upset over it. After speaking to the manager this was resolved, but it should not have been made into a scene by their staff. To sum up, if you want to have a bland curry in a rush, go...
