What a little gem of a find on our way home to London. As soon as we walked in we felt instantly welcome and at home in this family run business. The owner treated everyone as if she has known them forever and is super friendly and personable. We ordered brunch and dined in, drinks were served promptly and dispite it becoming busy we didn't have to wait long for our food. Full English for my partner. Poached egg with bacon cheese and advocado on toast for me. ½ a Bacon sandwich for our 5 year old. All really fresh and delicious. We were offered white or granary bread and asked if there was anything we didn't like on our dishes that could be substituted. Our 5 year old was given a packet of crisps and some mini cookies also. When we spoke to the owner she said she was from Walthamstow, East London and it certainly showed, lovely lady. I would definitely return if we were passing through and would whole heartedly recommend to anyone wanting to eat or drink in the Billingshurst...
Read moreI’ve agonised over this review as small businesses, especially those offering a warm welcome deserve support. Being dog friendly too is a real bonus. However, my partner did not like her tea as it lacked flavour and had an off taste (hot water system needs descaling maybe?), my americano tasted more like supermarket instant than proper coffee (not enough taste and could be hotter), and my toasted sandwich was not so good either, tasting of cheap, rather fatty ingredients. I’ll accept straight away that taste is subjective, and some may well have enjoyed the toasted sandwich but it was not good for me. It is quite possible that different choices might have yielded a 5 star review. Would I go again? Maybe if in the area as the staff are great and different menu choices might make for a more...
Read moreWent in for a quick morning coffee (have been plenty of times before and had a lovely coffee!) Asked for a large flat white and Latte. The coffee’s tasted like milky water, I took them back and asked for another 2 coffee’s but small instead as large cups were huge so thought it might be the milk ratio due to cup size (did not ask for refund on price difference). The manager/owner came out and made me drink them to check quality (burnt my mouth!), she didn’t know which was the latte and which was flat white. When I said they still tasted watery she said there is coffee in there and I went on my way. I have never left a negative review on any company’s profile but I am totally taken aback by the service and quality. Such as shame as I really liked...
