Vintage Rose Tea Room — Restaurant in Horsham

Wow! We were passing through Storrington and feeling peckish. After a quick Google, we decided to give Vintage Rose Tea Room a try. WE WILL BE BACK! Prices are to be as expected, but we were blown away by the size and quality of what we ordered. Children 8 & 10 tucked into a jacket potato (leaving the salad and coleslaw for us to finish unsurprisingly). Much to our delight, as both were delicious in themselves and beyond the side salad, you would expect to accompany a jacket potato. We were ourselves, however, being purely glutenous in finishing their sides, as both our sandwiches exceeded expectations. We had a BLT and chicken, bacon, advacado (on staff recommendation), and they were fantastic, well filled with quality ingredients and their own accompanying salad and crisps. Lovely food and staff. Note that they no longer do the traditional 3-tier afternoon tea (as previous reviews suggest) but they made up an afternoon platter for us (on a large plate). If you're looking for a full afternoon tea experience with dainty sarnies and pastries on 3 tiers etc. then it's probably not for you but if you're happy to choose your own sandwiches (crust on), scones and sweets then you'll enjoy the Vintage Tea Room. We were passing through town and happened to stop in right at closing, but didn’t want to leave empty handed. We took the hummingbird cake to go and let me tell you, it is soooooo yummy. Very fresh and moist and clearly made with love. I only wish we had been there early so we could have enjoyed properly afternoon tea.
