Giving a 2 start review because the Sunday lunch vegetarian option was just ok (too expensive for what was offered), but particularly because we ordered a £4.50 appetiser of olives, feta cheese and sundried tomatoes, only to be presented with your average supermarket olives, 4 feta cheese crumbs and NO sundried tomatoes (instead there was just 1 cherry tomato cut in quarters). Given the other options within walking distance around Godmanchester I don't think I'll be setting food in the White Hart any time soon.

This is probably one of the best pubs I have been to, predominantly for two reasons. 1. Delectable food, big portions, fantastic flavours and freshly served meals. 2. The ambience of the pub is really lovely, warm and welcoming, very comfortable. The layout of the establishment is unique and inviting, it's a dainty place for an intimate but easy going evening. Staff members were lovely too....it was sure worth the 1 hour drive.

Went in for a pint. Soon chose our favourites. And then to have freshly cooked food ( fish and chips, lasagne, beef curry etc ) available at excellent prices meant we stopped and used the Bar Snack / Mains menu. Thank you chef, the fish ( cod) was absolutely superb. More like a whale actually. We will be back

We arrived at 13:50 without a booking. A very welcoming young lady told us the restaurant was fully booked and suggested we went to bar food area. I asked if we could have restaurant food there and she said yes. I tested my understanding by asking if they would serve everything in the bar food area and she confirmed again.

We went to the bar food area and after waiting in queue, were greeted (and I use the word very loosely!) by a lady who clearly did not want to be there. I asked if we could have roast lunches and she said "No". We completed our order of other food at 14:05 (time stamp on my payment) and asked if there was a garden. We were told yes and we stumbled around through the car park until we found it.

Sat down under the marquee and were just starting to relax when another customer joined the marquee and then proceeded to follow her dog around as it did it's serious business in many different spots with the lady and the husband running around with bags trying to find the poo rather than restraining the animal! The smell was horrible and as it was now 14:37, we thought we'd go in to find out where the food was.

Were told there was always at least a 20 minute delay and she would go and see about progress. Came out and told us there was a delay and she was sorry she had not come out to filter the information to us.

At 14:53, the food was served. It was not worth waiting for and certainly not worth the money. In fact, it was not nice at all. But we were so hungry we ate it.

Just a couple of other incidents, loo related. Whilst I was in the gents, one of the servers came in and went to the loo. From the sound effects obviously major business! Whilst I was washing my hands he finished, flushed and left without washing his hand. I saw he was then drying glasses!! During our waiting, the Chef came out to go to the loo and guess what, he was still wearing his chef's uniform and apron and did not take them off to go to the loo! I am a certificate holder and I regret not having mentioned these to the owner who should know these actions are in serious breach of the Food Hygiene Regulations.

We won't be going back and we regret having wasted a lovely Sunday...

I have to say I was very disappointed when I had lunch here on Sunday! I came for a meal as part of a large group. Most people pre-ordered (menu choices given on Friday) the roast and after the plated food was bought out by the servers, we waited patiently for the bowls of seasonal vegetables to be served, assuming that there would be a bowl per three or four people. After waiting for a couple of minutes, one of our party asked how long the vegetables were going to take, only to be told that what was on our plate were considered to be the seasonal vegetables, as they were root vegetables at this time. On my plate in terms of vegetables I had roast potatoes, mashed potatoes and sweet potato, personally I do not consider three different types of potato to be seasonal vegetables. White Hart, where were the Brussels, cabbage, cauliflower, kale or leek? Or anything that isn't beige? It is fair to say that thereHow about.... I am writing to formally express my disappointment following a recent visit to your restaurant on the 18th April Unfortunately, the experience did not meet the standards I expected, and I feel compelled to bring the matter to your attention.

Firstly, the quality of the meal I was served was unsatisfactory. “The pork rib I ordered for my daughter was under cooked, red juices and red spots in more dense parts. The First Lady we spoke to listened and then I assume went off to seek advice. I was then confronted by another member of staff who I believe to be Jackie who was completely dismissive when I politely raised concerns about my meal, responded rudely, and showed a lack of basic customer service etiquette. To add to the dissatisfaction this cost remained on the bill and I felt I had firmly been corrected by Jackie. This level of unprofessionalism was both surprising and disappointing, my daughter was unable to eat her meal. It was not reflective of the standard your establishment is known for, and it significantly affected my dining experience.

I chose your restaurant based on its reputation for quality food and service, and I hope that this was an isolated incident. I would appreciate it if you could investigate this matter and ensure that appropriate steps are taken to prevent similar situations...
