Although Inglesport in Ingleton is a well stocked shop and has seemingly pleasant staff, I advise checking their internet prices before travelling specially to and/or purchasing from the shop - there could well be a difference. We bought 2 x £180 Rab Kinetic 2.0 coats only to find that Inglesport's website had the same coats almost £20 each cheaper inc free delivery. I emailed immediately using the email address on their site - no response then meant a phone call and a conversation with I assume the owner (the man with 27 years in the business) to register my disappointment at a £40 overspend - he told me in and among a lecture on bricks & mortar vs online shops that he felt I was threatening him. I most certainly was doing no such thing. I told him one option I had was to return the coats and rebuy them off his site at the new price but then that would be another hour's time and petrol each way wasted - and nobody' gains. I'm really annoyed about this, but every day is a school day as they say. That's what you get for purchasing from shops vs online.The coats haven't been worn yet and I hope there isn't a problem with either of them because based on today's experience I believe the aftersales service would be non-existent.

The email sent fine, as virtually all emails do these days. I did check send status (a couple of times - I'm a belt and braces Yorkshireman) but gave you the benefit of the doubt as it was the New Year period.
Sorry to hear it is onerous monitoring pricing across your stocks. Perhaps investment in decent software may help? On the other hand, I can imagine, as in this case, that the benefit favours the shop rather than the customer? That's a downside of dual-pricing, the customer might notice.
Thanks for a repeat of your lecture on the merits as you see them of shopping in 'bricks & mortar' vs online. While on the subject of online shopping, I now see that had I done some deep-dive research as I should have done prior, I could have saved even more money on our purchases from other vendors not only online but at actual shops too. It would appear now that in this case Inglesport isn't best value either in-shop or on the web.
While Ingleton is a nice place, as are the Dales generally (I lived in the area for 20 years and know various parts reasonably well) I'm not particularly inclined to revisit for a token shop or cafe voucher. I can see now that I can achieve more value and certainly a better buying experience elsewhere. As it is I'm afraid, even if you were now to say to me '"whoops sorry, I'll refund the difference" I'd say keep it.
Rab has a good reputation and hopefully the coats will provide years of good service in the outdoor activities for which they were bought. Every time of wearing I'll think of this experience with Inglesport and it will remind me to do my research very carefully. Like I said, every day's...

I bought my caving fleece, oversuit, wellies, and other accessories here and there was loads of advice on the site about what to go for.
