Our meal and experience overall was ok. However, it made us lose trust in many of the 5 star reviews.
The table service was greatly uninspiring, the owner was on her phone, talking to her waitress, who was incredibly uninterested in her role, and said she would rather be out with her friends and boyfriend.
The Bruschetta was served with flavourless salad tomatoes, zero olive oil or even salt.
The pellegrino water was served in a 1.5ltr Highland spring plastic bottle placed on the table.
I ate the salad, that had likely come from a salad bag from Co op.
The Merlot, might as well have been aldi wine from a carton, this would have been an improvement.
The main lacked mozeralla, tasted like over salted shop bought pasta sauce with a sprinkling over dust, apparently parmesan...
The ambience? No music, sitting close on tiny tables next to strangers, which makes it difficult to hold a conversation with your guest, about how you wish you drove an hour to Harrogate to have a lovely Italian meal, Gianni's Brio or...
Read moreI have been to this restaurant many times. Historically the food has been fabulous and the sevice is great. And I promote healthy honest bussiness all the times .However….. u can only truly judge a great place when something is “ no quite right”. I never touched my meal this evening ; the mussels did not smell great!! I was not going to risk eating it.. I am not a chef but travel often and am an Experienced cook. Antonio freaked out when I asked if the shell fish had been previously frozen? He replied by refusing to cook a replacement.meal. I offered to pay but he just freaked out..Absoultly no customer service what so ever. .Quite childllike to me to be honest! Overall it’s a lovely quaint restauart which we all should support, it really is lovely. However if the boss doesn’t listen to their customers then he is sure to fail.
I always try to post positive and honest reviews. Hopefully restaurant owners read this and improve their flaws. Everything is now...
Read moreWas expecting far more from this restaurant as far as food but we were disappointed. The food was pretty basic which is not a bad thing if prices are reflected accordingly, but it is expensive for what you get. (£59 with 2 beers) The bruschetta starter was over-salted which was probably deliberate to hide the tasteless tomatoes yet the garlic mushrooms had no seasoning whatsoever. To make matters worse, the pasta parcels were not fully cooked around the edges so that I had to cut them off and leave them as they were inebible. The restaurant is very small and the table we were given was in a very tight space beside the coat rack and the only toilet. This table was pushed up to the wall making eating difficult as there simply wasn't enough room for your elbow. The chairs are very uncomfortable (wood with no cushion) and it really was a relief to be able to leave quickly. All in all, a very...
