Over half an hour waiting for some fried eggs and toast for 2 children. Absolutely ridiculous.
My sister and I arrived with 2 children this morning for breakfast. As we were seated at the table we were asked what we wanted to drink which we ordered. At the same time I asked for fried eggs and toast for my 3 year old daughter and to bring as soon as possible.
About 5 minutes later a server returned with drinks and took the rest of our food order. My son only wanted toast while my sister and I ordered cooked meals from the menu.
About 20 minutes later I asked a passing server where the food was, she said something about the printer not working in the kitchen and she would chase it up.
10 minutes later a server arrived at the table with the meals for my sister and I. I was confused and annoyed as the children were asking about their food for long enough. It was outrageous that it was taking so long for toast and fried eggs to come, and to come after our food when they were specifically ordered before the rest of the food and requested to come as soon as possible. She did apologise and mentioned the printer again but this in my eyes is not a reasonable explanation. If technology fails, something else needs to happen to fulfil the service. I asked where the childrenās food was and she said it was waiting at the hatch. Which she brought a few minutes later, albeit the toast was barely toasted on one side, and the eggs, that while cooked, werenāt that well done to think they would take too long to cook š¤¦š»āāļø
30min wait for that for the kids was a joke. There was only 1 table ahead of us and having the waitressā sign as she walked away after I complained was just rude, unprofessional and disrespectful.
No compensation for this disaster was offered eitherā¦. Not even a fresh cup of tea or coffee to replace what had gone cold while waiting.
Terrible customer service. I can understand things go wrong but alternative processes should be put in place to overcome these issues.
Our adults meals were tasty so Iām not knocking the food served to us. The ambience was pleasant also. A shame the experience was marred by...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went with friends recently and with it being just after Christmas it was extremely busy. Had to wait around 20 minutes or so for a table and there were sold out items on the menu. My friend was originally brought the wrong meal but to be fair as soon as she said she was brought the right meal within about 5 minutes. The guy serving us was really nice and apologetic, it was just obvious the team was rushed off their feet. Food was great, I had the brioche french toast which was incredible. Quite big portions so good value for money. Lovely decor and atmosphere. Only other complaint would be the temperature, there seemed to be blow heaters blasting warm air and it was uncomfortably warm. The three of us stuck to the water brought rather than ordering any teas or coffees as it was just way too warm...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been to Joxer a few times before, and always had a decent experience. The place is lovely and the coffees always good. However today as I Went for breakfast and ordered their āspecialā of pear crumble french toast, which sounded amazing. Unfortunately It wasnāt. It was a boiled pear on top of tasteless dry cool bread and no flavour, it didnāt really taste of anything. I awkwardly sent it back, only to hear someone from downstairs loudly saying āwhatās wrong with it?ā I was mortified, and made to feel like I was just being difficult. Iāve never sent food back in my life. The dish was taken away uneaten but still left on the bill, which felt dismissive as I feel itās important to feel respected...
