Updated 19/2/2025 Great night once more ! Place was rammed full and atmosphere buzzing . Full of nice people enjoying wonderful food. Ribs still not the same as in the past heated ribs with a sauce poured over them not like the baked sticky piping hot ones of the past. Second the pizza base was hot crispy with the Parma ham and Parmesan and rocket was perfect . Mains I was getting full but the steak with Gorgonzola and ham was immense cooked perfectly. One gripe was lamb chops appeared lukewarm warm they were immediately changed and fresh ones including the side dishes provided immediately . Nothing was too much trouble one of group celebrating her birthday they made a fuss and sang to her which was appreciated. Sweet dish cheesecake fresh home made lovely . Overall a wonderful night we will be back soon. Tonight was amazing With heavy heart I make this report about my favourite restaurant for the past 25 years . Never ever have I had a bad meal here always waiters attentive and food always top top quality BUT !!! and it’s a big but ! Weeks prior to a dear relatives 62nd wedding anniversary a table of 12 with a high chair was booked for last night Sunday 26th March at 6pm we arrived early and was told no table booked ! We had rang a week ago and even last night to reconfirm and was told all confirmed yet now no table ?!? However as he looked he said a table for 12 with high chair had been reserved in another name .. possible admin error but that has never happened before ! Sat at our table took an age to get our drinks from very young staff finally ordered our starters and mains . I always have the ribs for starters which usually comes in it’s own bowl with thick sticky sauce and has meat dropping off the bone what came was dry bones devoid of much meat and sauce I complained to two staff who said they would pass it on! Fillet steak again very small but perfectly cooked I have to admit . Now our favourite sides of vegetables at a fiver a portion used to be the highlight it’s clear either a change of chef or standards have dropped but small bowls with boiled veg one tossed in oil pretending to be roasted and another had a few pieces of rosemary on it ! Very poor show as it was early and not busy . I have been here Saturday night with it rammed and the food always spot on . Finally sweets ordered I had a cheese board but informed them must be gluten free crackers as I was sharing with partner who could have normal … eventually it came and for a tenner to see six Jacob crackers as the offering with three slivers of cheese was a disappointment. I queried are these gluten free as ordered yes I was told ! I said I didn’t know that Jacob crackers came in gf he said he would check he came back said sorry they aren’t he then took my side plate removed three crackers with his hands and put three gluten free in it’s place again with his hands ! Overall very poor . We eat out a lot and I am afraid you have ruined a 25 year memory for me and others in the group had been going longer ! Bill over £500 with a £50 addition for service charge . Family didn’t want to pay but we did and left . Da Sandro’s will always be busy as it has a loyal following but we travel 20 miles with a baby in several cars to spend over £500 and was left very disappointed with everyone saying the place had changed for the worst and better available nearer home . Da Sandro restaurant offering a truly authentic Italian dining experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome from Fabio, the manager, who made us feel right at home. The staff were all incredibly attentive and well-trained, with Angelo taking our order and ensuring that everything was to our liking throughout the meal.

The menu at Da Sandro is a true reflection of traditional Italian cuisine, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. My wife opted for the Linguini Mare, a seafood pasta dish that was bursting with flavor. The freshness of the seafood combined with the perfectly cooked pasta made for a truly memorable dish. My son and I both decided to go for the filet steak, and we were not disappointed. The steaks were cooked to perfection, with a beautiful char on the outside and a juicy, tender center. The quality of the meat was evident, and it was clear that the chef took great care in preparing our dishes.

My mother decided to go for the Lasagna, a classic Italian dish that can be hit or miss at many restaurants. However, at Da Sandro, the Lasagna was a true standout. The layers of pasta, meat, and cheese were perfectly balanced, and each bite was a delight.

Overall, our dining experience at Da Sandro was top class. The food was exceptional, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. It is clear that the team at Da Sandro takes great pride in what they do, and it shows in every aspect of the restaurant. Have been dining at Da Sandros since it first opened and never really had a bad meal there the food is always good, as it was on this occasion Sunday 23rd June 2024 - unfortunately the staff on the day were oblivious to customer requirements, not being observant, not clearing tables between courses and totally disinterested in their job. It was embarassing for staff when they brought out the main dishes only to find that the table had not been cleared from the starters and had nowhere to place the dishes containing the main meals. It was the same when the mains were finished dishes were just left there, we had to ask a girl if she would clear the table which she did somewhat reluctantly. We then had to ask if we could see a desert menu, she brought one and never came back to take the order. Just really poor quality service and made what should have been a nice meal a very poor experience. We reported to matter to the manager on the day who apparently was aware of the situation but just offered a polite apology. Simply not good enough when paying over £200 for service that does not match the quality of the food. Normally we wouldn't think twice about dining at Da Sandro's but after that experience we would be cautious about booking again. Simply train staff to be aware of what is going on instead of wondering around tables making it look as though they are aware but not seeing the wood for the trees.
