What a fantastic place to eat folks! I was visiting West Yorkshire (I still can't bring myself to call it Kirklees - it still sounds like somewhere in Scotland) and decided to take my best Girl Lilli'bet to "Destination" for dinner. I came across the restaurant after researching on Trip Advisor and it turns up that all the praise being bandied about was true because from beginning to end the food was utterly delicious and looked really spectacular on the plates.
This is all down to Chef Sam the most humble and congenial Gentleman you could ever wish to meet. His absolute passion for what he is bringing to his restaurant is admirable. The freshest of ingredients, the deftest of touches to his seasonings. This is absolutely not your run of the mill Indian food experience, you really don't need to spend long in his company to realise this is an exceptional Chef bringing the whole of his heart to his cuisine.
I have to give a shout out to Jo the restaurant manager who keeps things ticking over whilst Sam does his thing and the people working the tables who were so sweet and patient because we were taking an age to decide what to have as every dish sounded fabulous!
Look let's face it... There is an abundance of restaurants serving up good curries across the region but what Sam's creating is not good...
It is absolutely Michelin star worthy and as far as I can see, that's exactly where Sam is heading. Please please please don't miss out, you'd be doing yourself a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot been here before looks awesome online and reviews seem to back this. Once we got sat down we had to gain attention from the waiters for a drinks menu and food menu that was after around 15 minutes of being there. We ordered a pickle tray to start which was a tad underwhelming as only a few bits of popadom and the sauces seemed a bit bland with no Spice to any of them. The mains arrived shortly after which were nice maybe not to my usual taste but thatās just me. When then proceeded to deserts which we then had to prompt the staff again to order. We both ordered different desserts but both seemed to have taken on the taste of onion from the fridge so they both got left. we then asked for the bill and to take the deserts off, that never came so just decided to pay at the desk to find our deserts hadnāt been taken off and the the chef asking us which waiter served us whilst they were stood in front of us which was very awkward. I think for better experience concentrate on more attentive waiters and less fuss with the foods image and more on the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen a couple of times. Lovely food especially the deconstructed samosa chaat. Presentation is very cheffy and feels special. Their Indian food is better than usual restaurants and a bit different. Main chef is very experienced from what he has shared about his credentials. First time staff were very on the ball, second time we felt less attention from staff on a week day which wasnāt busy but maybe short staffed or distracted. It is more costly than other Indian restaurants so it would be a special treat to go, as price difference is noticeable. Nonetheless the food was generally very nice except one vegetarian dish I wasnāt keen on and a little over use of cream in some dishes. Am sure the kitchen would oblige of I was to ask for less cream next time. Definitely worth a visit for a more upmarket menu compared to other Indian restaurants in the Kirklees area. Owners are very...
