Lovely cafe with delicious food, efficient service and a nice atmosphere. Dog friendly. It's worth noting there's a few tables benefiting from SSE aspect so a good place to visit on a sunny day to recharge.

The coffee is delicious and right off the bat you are asked to choose between a single or a double shot to get it as strong as you like. Eggs were runny where they should be, bacon's fat was rendered and hashbrowns were not soaking wet from oil.

There's a couple of free parking lots nearby which makes it quite a convenient spot.

EDIT 1st of March We popped in to check out the place after refurb. Not such a great experience. The staff didn't pay attention to who comes in first and, despite us waiting for someone to serve us, the staff progressed to take care of a couple who pushed in. Coffee was very weak on this occasion. Eggs Benedict only available on sourdough. I've ordered smashed avocado and halloumi and got feta with traces of avocado. The fried egg was alright and had runny yolk, luckily. The omelette was a bit too oily for our liking.

I hope this is a blip in the service/food quality as it's not something I'd like to repeat often.

On the plus side, the front tables are flooded with sunshine and dogs...

When busy very rushed went with relative to eat and drink lunch. We couldn't use stairs. We ask the gentleman if we could ask a couple sat on a table for 4 to split into table for 2 twos he said ask them if you want.... I think it would have been better for him to ask not us as customers... We managed the stairs my aunt have a knee replacement only 6 weeks before and myself rheumatoid arthritis. Only to be told by a lovely lady serving upstairs we could have used entrance from the street instead of stairs. No toilets upstairs so back down for loo and up again to drink second coffee. Then I had to go down for salt and pepper to find out they are back upstairs on a windowsill. I would go back the food is fabulous we spent £40 for two people couple of drinks two amazing baguettes and chips really fab sat upstairs put condiments on tables and toilet.... And...

A very disappointing experience at Vanilla Bean today. The 2 seater table was given to the people behind me, so I sat at the 4 seater table. I was asked to move because it was just me on my own. I said that I was actually approaching the 2 seater table before she and the 2 other customers rushed past me to take it.

I was offered another table in a busy and noisy part of the restaurant which I didn’t want. I asked if I could be seated by the window instead (tables were not reserved and could have been moved very slightly to accommodate). I was told that this was not possible. I ended up leaving as I felt very unwelcome particularly as a solo person.

This feels particularly unfair because I actually had a table and was asked to move. Such a shame as it is a local spot for me but with such poor customer service I don’t think I will be...

The location is cute and the staff is very professional and accommodating, however the food it was extremely disappointing. It looked very pleasing to the eye but the seafood plater for 2 tasted like the tuna was out of the can and the shrimps were just defrosted and put sweet chilli sauce on top. The gammon was not too bad but nothing special at all.The homade lasagna was ok but it might be a frozen one as well. Overall the service and the vibe were nice but the food was terrible. I would return for a drink and that’s all.

We were looking a place to eat, After a walk around Colne valley on a dry and sunny day on sunday. Arrived the Vanilla Bean Cafe 1:40pm. It was almost full and needed to wait for food. after several cups of tea (refilled tea pot with hot water), the meals arrived. the salmon pasta tasted delicious but lack of salmon. the chicken sandwich was good. we ordered sweet potato fries and it was plentiful and tasted good. The coffee walnut cake was ok too. the cafe also sell icecreams made from Guernsey cow's milk.
